Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has sparked Harry Kane injury concerns after admitting the striker is suffering from fatigue ahead of the World Cup. Kane has already played 23 games for club and country this season and started Spurs’ 2-0 Carabao Cup defeat at Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night, before being substituted just before the hour mark.

i remember the days when certain clowns on here ,where saying
stick with Mourinho he's serial winner, its not him, its the players,

now we got this guy Conte, who keeps picking the same bunch of losers every week,
and he's also dropping players from the bench, anyone who thinks this will end well are out there (swear word) minds.

So who was Conte supposed to pick instead of Kane with all the current injuries.

you do know Spurs is a football club, and in a football club there happens to be footballers,
your telling me , we have one single striker in the whole club ?

A 15 year old kid, couldn't have done any worse than Kane did

I was truly shocked to learn yesterday that the World Cup Kicks off in 10 days time.

It's a farce.

Richarlison who's been injured is the back up to kane and if you are suggesting that a 15 year old from the academy should of been leading the line then I'll leave it there.

It's been a long and laboured last 6 weeks or so, taking into account defeats against the arse, utd, newcastle and liverpool. But it's worth looking on the positive side....... performances can't get any duller and more uninspiring than what we have been watching!

Oh actually, we have to watch England for a month.

I don't really care what happens to England (not being English), but Southgate has a legit beef with Spurs here if Kane is knackered. Especially so if that tiredness is driving some decision making on how much he trains, and then Conte picks him for the midweek cup game. It's a nonsense and I'd have much preferred if he was given some rest prior to Leeds. Any available forward or a change of formation would have been fine against Forest.

Our performances are not up to scratch and our points haul (and CL qualification) are well above where I'd put our performance level. But we are sliding. We need a manager who can handle 2 games a week, because that's what successful football teams do. I hope Conte is that guy. But running Kane into the ground is crazy.

International managers do not have the right to complain about what a club demands from the players that they pay. No exceptions.

Southgate has lots of options and can pick other players you know.

When players get injured on international duty the club gets screwed. There is no comeback. It works both ways.

No, he's telling you that four were injured simultaneously. Moura and Son unavailable to even sit on the bench. Kulusevski and Richarlison are only just returning from injury and weren't ready to risk playing more than 30 minutes or so.

It's certainly very hypocritical of international managers to comment on a club overusing a player when that international manger does the same themself (possibly to an even greater degree).

Since the start of this season, Kane has averaged 80 minutes per game for Spurs and 90 minutes per game for England (he hasn't been rested or subbed off once).

I recall past England managers (e.g. Sven and McClaren) regularly taking key players from the "big four" clubs off at half-time, or only playing them in one of two matches during mid-season international breaks. Conversely, Kane has featured in all but one of England's games since the start of Euro 2020 and has played the full 90+ minutes in most of those games. Even when England were 6-0 up against San Marino / 4-0 up against Andorra at half-time, Kane was sent back out for another 20-30 minutes before being replaced.
