“If he had an extra yard of pace, you would say he had everything."

Funny Gary should say that because a few others mentioned in the match thread that he is looking a bit more nimble now.

Even if not, being a little on the slow side never did Teddy any harm.

Really starting to take to Harry now. So very humble and likeable. A world apart from your average twatty pretentious footballer (yes, Joey Barton, I am looking at you)

Woah there!! Archibald and Crooks, Allen, Klinsmann, Sheringham, Berbatov. And none of them came through the ranks. Will be some acheivement to be amongst those names and I just hope he can pull it off.

Or he hasn't and he actually said, "He could go on to become a great goalscorer for Tottenham", which is quite different.

Agree, Teddy was a very intelligent player and that intelligence made up for any pace he was lacking.

He's not Henry quick but he isn't Crouch slow either and is quite strong so not easily pushed off the ball. And as others have mentioned he has a sharp mind, I've seen him quite a few times slow the opposition defender down just enough to get them off balance to allow him to get past them.

And for what it's worth, I think he can become one of our top 3 all time goal scorers. What's our European record that Defoe holds? And who is our top premier league goalscorer? I'm guessing Keane?

It would have done him no harm either if Sheri would have had pace in his feet

One swallow does not make you gay... No wait that's not it... Something about Ann summers?!

Well anyway, too early for this kinda talk. Harry Kane's on the foreplay, let's wait and see how he is when it's down and dirty a few seasons in eh!

Man... I think I might have been reading too much mumsnet today... Filthy site.

It's great that Kane has been making the most of his chance - much to the detriment of Soldado's inability to adapt to the Prem and our tactics as well as Ade's hot-cold form (all cold this term).

But the excitement is still a little premature. I like the Talksport analysis of him (for once they weren't just spewing garbage) in saying they'd like him to stay in the U21's for England a little while longer so that he can keep gaining experience without denting his confidence.

Great that he's been banging them in, but at his age you still need to protect him and not let his confidence get knocked when things don't go your way
