Harry Kane will have a big say in the appointment process of the next Tottenham manager. The North London side are desperate to keep the 29-year-old striker at the club this summer and are willing to pull out all the stops to convince him. It is understood that Spurs have promised Kane that he’ll be allowed to influence their managerial search as part of his contract talks.

He's a generational striker, our talisman, a draw for other players to want to play with, he won't be sold this summer, so why not let him influence the choice of manager? Do I f*ck want him to leave in a free in a years time. If it means he gets a 5 min natter as to who the manager is, then let him have his two penneth! He's not exactly going to demand Big Sam is he!!!!!!!!

He also knows a heck of a lot more about football than Levy ever will. The fact that we've reached this 'tail wagging the dog' situation is entirely Levy's fault. He's the one who's made wrong decision after wrong decision on the football side of the club's business.

We signed players to appease our last manager and he left anyway. It's not how you run a successful football club.

Kane is head and shoulders above the calibre of his teammates. He is the captain of his national team, leads on the pitch and would love nothing more than to win things with Spurs if he thinks that is at all possible. Why not listen to a player who has now outlasted 4 managers? He knows our strengths and has a very good understanding of our weaknesses.

We should try everything to keep him. Losing generational players that teams are built around can be devastating, particularly when the owners are not willing to spend to replace.

"Harry Kane tells Tottenham board who should be next manager".

And who, exactly, did he tell the Tottenham board it should be?

If true, while it isn't a traditional approach, there shouldn't be any issue with it. HK's goal is to win trophies and he is quite level headed about it. There are plenty of players whose opinion is shite. I doubt that his is. And if it does help persuade him to sign an extension, it's a good business decision if you want to keep him rather than take the money from his sale and rebuild with it.

There’s really no information at all in the article. Just a lot of possibilities that can only be true if we believe Football Insider has inside info.

I don’t.

This is what Barcelona did after Guardiola with Messi reportedly calling the shots on their managerial choices. They ended up with people like Tata Martino. It's just a mad thing to do. Never ever should you cede power to the players. I'd rather Kane left than was given that much power. Get a DoF to do this.

There’s a difference between the board letting Kane choose the manager and asking for his views.

He is a player and has seen first hand what works and what doesn’t on the playing side.

If the board allows Kane or any player too much influence it is an issue, but given Levy’s nature, this is extremely unlikely.

Also, (and this is hypothetical, as I don't believe for a second the discussion even happened) there's a high likelihood if he signs another 4 year deal, he'll be here longer, and contribute more than that manager ever would do lol. It's probably a win for the club either way.

Can't make a worse selection than Nuno, so his first manager appointment will go better than the DoF that we just fired.
