This whole Kane thing is now over the top . This isn't going to help his development imo .

He's been good lately , but not exceptional . Some here were thinking that previous levels of hype had already affected him ( we've already seen him dribbling and shooting when teamates were better placed) , but now its ridiculous . How can a 21 year old , no matter how apparently mature , stop himself from embracing this tidal wave of hero worship...and starting to believe it . Wherever the poor kid goes socially his arrival is an event . Even superstars are lauding him .

Whats more the big clubs will have noticed....little whispers in his ear about trophies and massive wage hikes...

Gone too far , I'm a tad worried for him tbh.
The biggest worry for me is how selfish he's become. What impressed me most about him when I saw him play for the youth team or in his cameos in the cups was his ability to see and pick a pass. And I do think this is the "fame" getting to his head.

Since his run of goals started, his passing has disappeared. He is always trying to dribble past players and score. I know it sounds silly to criticize a striker for this, but his run of goalscoring is not sustainable. At some point, when regression kicks in, he is going to have to set up others as well. I hope he still possesses this quality, because moments like at the end vs United when he shot from an impossible angle instead of squaring it for a tap in to two open teammates really concerned me. The only passes I can remember him playing are the one to Mason in the first United game and vs Eriksen in the cup semifinal.

I can't criticize him as he is the only reason we are where we are in the table. But I will make it known that I've spotted this, and when reality kicks in next season, I hope he is capable of doing more than just dribbling and shooting.

All valid points, I think the whole front 4 are guilty of this.
But there young and learning, hopefully MP will highlight this in there development.

What a load of bollocks.

Why would you ask him to stop something that has generally been successful? Being direct and taking people on/shooting early and aggressively is one of the things that has made him special and stand out.

Its not as if we have loads of other capable goal scorers and I can't recall many situations when he clearly should have passed and if he had we would have scored.

Your clearly the never happy type of fan. The "Modric doesn't score enough" type of fan. The "He plays on the left" type of fan.

From my point of view its down to the others to step up and offer something more offensively, not down to a 21 year old striker to make it his job to start giving more goals to other players.

It definitely seems to be between Kane and Giroud. How's Girouds overall gameplay been this month? Is he just scoring and not doing much else? Kane always seems to be involved with everything we do while Giroud seems to go missing quite a bit.

I cannot believe people are taking a dig at Kane.

It's a "Fifa generation" thing, where people expect every player to have the same core attributes in order to be successful.

Was Lineker known for his assists? Did Gazza track back and play a high intensity pressing game? Did Hoddle protect the back four?

The game isn't about all players being able to do everything, its about forming a team with balance. All great teams of the past have had a single minded goal scorer. We have that now, lets not try and wish it away.

Same goes for Eriksen as it happens, its not his job to protect the defenders. We need to find players better suited to the lineup to enable Eriksen to focus on what he does best.

I'm not trying to be negative. There's just no way that he can keep up this scoring run. At some point, penalties are not going to be saved and come back right to him, at some point he will go 10-15 games without being in the right spot for a deflection after a corner, etc. His passing has dropped off noticeably since he took over the first team and I'm fine with that to some extent because without him we'd be mid table. But over the long run he has to add it back into his game to really be a top striker. Suarez, Rooney, etc all did/do it.

I can't be proven right or wrong on this until his hot streak wears off, so I will revisit this post next season.

And just for the record I think Modric is the best midfielder I've ever seen at Spurs and would be in any "team of the world" sort of XI I'd make. Phenomenal player.

The thing with Kane is that it's not a "Hot streak". Its not like with Bale who was scoring worldies week after week which isn't sustainable.

Kane has a key attribute of having excellent positioning which is why the ball so often "lands" at his feet in the box.

No reason why that will stop all of a sudden.

Soldado's key attribute was supposedly finishing rather than positioning which meant that if the ball arrived to him, he usually scored.

As we have seen Soldado doesn't have a clue where to put himself in order to get a goal.

I guess the finishing and the positioning generally go hand

i'll stop this. With all the Harry Kane loving we can forget about Soldado for now. Thats the other great things about Harrys rise. Has almost wiped the pain of Soldado away. Sorry for even bringing him up!

7 votes for Harry from me now...
Is this award a public vote?

No, the offical PL Player of the Month award is chosen by a PL elected Panel.

That website is a deliberately badly-worded attempt to pretend it's the official PL award, when it's actually just a fan's player of the month award.

For example, Coutinho won it for February. No f**ks were given

This.

Anyone really thought a Tottenham player would win an online vote award? ;)

Cazorla won January and Coutinho in Ferbuary. But everyone knew that, right?

Both have the same amount of goals but Giroud has 1 assist (to Kane's 0). It will probably come down to consistency of scoring every game that month vs the glory of a hat trick.

Reminds me of Van Nistelrooy in that sense.
