I think Mason. A lot of goals for a young player who ISN'T physically very good at the moment. Players like Obika, Townsend ect can be carried through because of their physical attributes, Mason has found his way with technical skills despite only being small. Physical players often can't learn the technical parts of the game, whereas technical players can get stronger and fitter - and if they are really good, they won't need it.

In short, physical players are more likely to make it at championship/lower premiership level, but if a technical player makes it, he can be a world beater.

agree with you a lot on the whole there, but people like C. Ronaldo were blessed with physical stature; he never really used it to his advantage and still he became a premier league legend. Taraabt is technically very good but he can't seem to push himself into our first team; only wallow in the championship (allbeit as one of QPR's better players).

All I really wanna say is that I think Townsend's technical ability outshines his physical stature and he will make it regardless of his build.

Not sure where the Qu over Andros technique is coming from. Yes, he is very fast, but he still needs the ability to get passed people and hit good crosses/ shots, which he does do FYI.

This is a pretty good example of what the boy can do

oh, and watch him here scoring orients second goal.

I didn't mean that as a direct criticism of Towsends ability... Just that I know he is quick and uses that to his advantage. I don't know that much about him to be honest...It wasn't a snipe, just an example - and clearly a misinformed one. My apologies

I fear the need for instant success and the size of our club means that so many of these talented youngsters won't get a chance. We'd rather dip into the transfer market then take a gamble on an Academy prospect, and that saddens me, particularly since our Academy is doing so well at the moment results wise. Who knows we could be looking at a clutch of Youngsters that might be our own versions of Beckham, Scholes, Butt and Gary Neville, and potentially save 30 million in the market.

A big problem was them going stale in the reserves - obviously we dont have that at the moment.

The 16-18 yos will get a hell of a lot being invovled in training with the first team, being part of match day squads, travelling and being there during games. 19-21yos have gone beyond that and need good competitive games, hence a load of been out on loan, which is ten, maybe twenty times better than reserve games.

I will be interested to see what business we do in Janaury and the summer. We may need a player or two, but they need to be top players or players with good ability and world class potential. If we go out and get some players purely to get numbers, then our youth players will not have any chance.

Having Harry in charge for a long time, especially with his reputation, will certainly help.

I'm not so sure that giving up our reserve team is such a great idea. I know Harry did the same thing at Portsmouth but they hardly had a record of developing their own talent. Most of the top teams still play reserve games. Is playing for Aldershot, Leyton Orient or Yeovil really providing the type of platform to take the likes of Parrett, Obika, Caulker, Mason and Townsend to the next level? And how do we expect Bostock to develop if his match-day experience is limited to 'friendlies' behind closed doors?

I'm all in favour of loaning players to EPL or top championship teams as part of their development but I do not believe that the likes of Aldershot, Orient or Yeovil provide any better environment than staying at Spurs, training with the first team squad and playing 'together' in the reserve team.

His impact this season actually reminds me of when Robbie Fowler broke through into the Liverpool team. Not similar players, but the composure Fowler showed made it clear early on that he would have a successful top flight career.

I'm sure there will be periods for Kane where the goals just won't come, but he seems to have the natural ability and footballing intelligence to always get into goal-scoring positions - which is half the battle.

I think it's bloody ironic that for years we've been searching for a good striker since Berba left, buying in duds left, right and centre, only for one of our own kids to come out and cement that place as his own.

It looks like we may be in the market for another striker, particularly as Ade is out of favour, but I'm worried about it hampering his development.

3 months ago, I would have been worried too. Now I think we will be looking for a striker who will either be Kane's understudy or some one to rotate with him - he's now on 17 goals scored for the season (only 7 in PL as Poch was favouring Adebayor and Soldado as PL starters earlier in the season) which is a strike rate that few can match.

What I like about him is that he's scoring all sorts of goals - and the 2 today v Chelsea were both technically first class finishes
