I know it's very much tin foil hat territory, but there was a weird drop off from everyone around that time - for all we know he might have wanted to go in Jan.
Wouldn't surprise me if there was something in this tbh. Kane and Son's "telepathic relationship" - that was so productive the commentators are still talking about it now, even though they've combined for a fraction of the goals since we were top of the league than before - came to a screeching halt (Sonny's form has dropped off massively too which could be the cause or effect of the above) and, looking back, several times since January Kane has looked disinterested or like he's dialling it in.

Pretty sue Kane wanted to leave last season but Jose was the last throw of the dice from Levy.
Its obvious.

Started the season well and spirits quite high after our recent start. Once things went to shit he started becoming more and more apathetic and then the interviews started.

He is a fabulous talent but all players leave/retire at some point and the club lives on. The great double team lost John White and Dave Mackay our greatest players IMO but in time Keith Burkinshaw had us back challenging and winning trophies.
John white died and Dave went about 10 years after
And in the meantime we signed Jimmy greaves

So, for me, IF he goes (and I hope he doesn't) he goes will my utmost respect and appreciation for everything he gave us. I would hate to see him player for Chelsea, but anywhere else and I'll be cheering for him still.
I appreciate what he’s done for the club but there’s F all chance I’m cheering him on if he goes to another PL club

Fuck man united and their stupid entitled fans, I hate that fucking club so much

I'm a ****, we all know that.

However, that rat faced fuck, Fernandes, in my opinion, is an even bigger ****.

So I'd at least get joy out of seeing him lose 99.9% of his goal tally because the cheating **** would no longer have penalties to pad out his stats & give the sickening media less to fawn over.

I genuinely can't explain why I have such an irrational disliking of him. Never met the guy, never really even watched him that much.

Maybe it's just a case of agreeing with you. That club, anything & anyone associated with them = Grade A ****.

And yep. That'll go for Kane if he ends up there.

They're all ****s.

People keep on saying we failed Kane by not splashing the cash, yet also say every big money transfer we have done has been failures, it sure is a lose/lose situation. Absolutely no player is a guarantee of being a success and that includes any player we could have splashed cash on to follow up our title challenge. Both Ndombele and Lo Celso was really highly rated players, so was Davinson, Soldado was a goal scorer that would take us to new levels, Paulinho came with a huge promise. I can keep on going, "if we would have just bought Dybala" well there is a good chance we would be sitting here whining about spending a ton of cash on him if it wouldn't work out as well. Hindsight is such a beautiful thing and I'm sure every club would want to have the ability to see into the future. Also any player succeeding at a different Premier League club wouldn't mean they would have been brilliant for us, as well as any player failing at other clubs doesn't mean they couldn't succeed for us. We have spent money, not every year but spending has been there. Buying both Ndombele and Lo Celso for slot of money does point towards us wanting to fix our midfield problems, shame it hasn't worked out but it's not because lack of trying. Mourinho sold the idea of him being able to improve our squad and I think anyone would have been happy at the thought of players like Davinson, which the club spent slot of money on, would finally be able to reach his potential. It's boring not to have a scapegoat and while it's easy to just point your finger at ENIC or Levy I just don't think it's that simple.

Kane never demanded guaranteed trophies. He demanded we were ambitious, on the right trajectory, able to compete. United offer that. Meanwhile we have replaced Dembele with Ndombele, Eriksen with Lo Celso, Vertonghen with Sanchez, Walker with Doherty. We failed our end of the bargain through a total lack of ambition.
Yep, and watch us spunk more money up the wall. All the people saying move on and take the money, have a look through our recent big money signings, it is grim!

It's very bleak but probably for the best. I don't blame Harry for wanting out, we have all been exasperated with Levy, must be worse when it affects your career.

Hopefully leads to a big clear out, lets have a new Tottenham, one free of the baggage of the last 5 years or so. Let new legends be born.

The night is darkest before the dawn.

Seems to be inevitable this transfer now but the burning question won't be losing Kane, it'll be who we spend the funds on.

Nobody out there in football who's attainable for us will yield the same return as Kane let's get that straight so we need to adapt our game to bring about a better goal return from other positions.

As always, let's see how we lie come September but last thing we, and indeed the incoming manager would want this saga rumbling on.

we need to get younger. i'd be looking at the likes of lamptey, bissouma, neto etc. perhaps jesus as part of the deal if he goes to city. rodon, skipp and maybe sess(though i'm not massively convinced by him) to take up more prominent roles. take this opportunity to build the next team rather than trying to limit the damage in the short-term.

We’ve stopped that in recent years, picking up young players from other clubs in England, in championship etc, I agree we really need to get back to that

But with so many big signings flopping, wouldn't have been prudent to access who is making these decisions, because we have a very very poor history of it. Someone who's job it is to evaluate talent is clearly not very good.
