To be fair, your post is a lot more informative than my original one was. I'd never heard of the Eldritch Horror game until you mentioned it :)
He'd be a useful character as one of his special abilities is to heal an ally asset. Could be useful mid season when Harry's ankle goes.

Had a chance encounter with Charlie Kane yesterday. We were coming out of the Uefa ticketing centre before the game yesterday and I turned round and there he was. Seemed genuinely chuffed that someone recognised and referred to him by his name, rather than him being the brother of H.

I said to him I wouldn't give him too much shit (about briefing the press), asked him if Harry will stay ("We'll see" was the response) and said we all want him to stay, and then left him alone to make his way to the stadium.

Nothing earth shattering, he was hardly going to give anything definitive away to a half pissed bloke wearing an England top, but thought I'd share anyway.
I’m glad it was you and not some dickhead who’d have given him stick, there’s hardly going to endear the idea of staying to Kane is it now.

Please don't take me in anyway for some sort of board game geek but whenever I hear mention of Charlie Kane I can't help but picture this chap from the Eldritch Horror game...

To reiterate...I'm not a geek.

Can I just say that I AM a massive geek and GMI's post made my day.

I've got the EH game and all the expansions (so many cards!).

So there!

PS GMI is a total coward for not flying the geek flag high! ;)

Man City willing to wait for Harry Kane if Tottenham deal doesn't materialise - sources

Manchester City are willing to wait a year to sign their ideal striker if they cannot prise Harry Kane away from Tottenham Hotspur, sources have told ESPN.

City have registered an interest in Kane, who wants to leave Spurs this summer, along with Manchester United and Chelsea.

However, there is an acceptance at the Etihad Stadium it will be a hard deal to get over the line with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy valuing the Englandcaptain at more than £150 million. Kane also has three years left on his contract after signing a long-term extension in December 2016.

ESPN is clueless.

As if his value will be much different next summer. It will potentially be higher given his performance, our league position, and the expected recovery of the transfer market.

I'm not sure that's right frankly. Next summer, he'll be a year away from a properly knock down price.

He may struggle in a potentially struggling side. He might get injured. Other players could emerge as alternatives. He's getting panned in the media right now - he might have a hang over from that next year.

There are a tons of reasons why he might not be worth more.

I think this is a very finely balanced judgement as to whether we sell him, but (with regret) for the right price, I think we should.

And this sort of story is classic positioning isn't it? We don't need him blah blah blah.

The most damaging piece in all this, is that we'll probably end up selling him too late to reinvest the money....as per bloody usual

Lol keep hearing this and it's rubbish. If Brighton had Harry Kane (or any top striker for that matter) teams would set up differently against them. People say if Potter had a top striker Brighton would be challenging. Thing is Brighton don't have a top striker so are Brighton playing to their strengths creating chances for nobody?

Still holding very strong Levy still telling anyone who asks he is not going anywhere this season.

It’s called a joke mate

I think it's legit tbh. Unless he outright puts in a transfer request I can't see Levy selling him. Even then I don't think anyone will pay the asking price, and you might as well completely ignore any cash plus players deals.
Agree. We are a few rungs below city. So many other teams would buy players such as Sterling and Bernardo before they would even consider us.

TalkSport (I know) saying Grealish to City for £100m is as good as done. Surely that impacts how much they have to spend on Kane?!

Grealish was being mooted at around £80m last summer. If City pay £100m for him then they have no right in trying to lowball us for Kane.

The mooted £85m rising to 100m for him is a joke based on that. £150m just to get at the table IMHO.

Having Grealish, KDB and Kane in a team is basically like loading up FM, going into the editor and transfering all the leagues best players to your club then saving the changes.

Correct. The only way to buy both is to include players in the deal or sell at least 3 players somewhere else.

Very unlikely either will happen.

Surely if they’re forming out £100m for grealish they can’t get Kane as well…..

They have almost unlimited money. They literally have the cheat codes, it’s why I wouldn’t even talk to them until they offered at least 200 million. Villa shouldn’t either.

Perhaps they aren't going in for Kane? Just looking at that figure would make Levy seriously consider increasing Kane's price
