Realistically I would take £125m + Ake. I'd love other players but I think Ake is in the group of good enough for Spurs, not getting game time at City, plus likely willing to come.

Ake is a decent ball playing CB who can play LCB. Realistically he is worth circa £30m.

£25m for Ings, £50m for Vlahovic and that's a decent squad!

Ake is homegrown which I guess is a +

I
Romano talking about it now. Apparently Man City's first offer was £100 million OR players and money up to the value of £100 million.

Taking the utter piss

They can that money and shove it where it belongs.

£180m and their owner licking Levys boots and we have a deal.

If this turns out to be true, then Harry is naive or far less honorable than we thought or more likely a combination of the two. Between not honoring a lucrative contract and undercutting the team's esprit de corps at the most inopportune times, and contributing little when it means most, he effectively has been sabotaging the team and ultimately the team's goals which he genuinely seemed keen on.

while i normally don't believe in cutting one's nose off to spite your face, this is a case where sitting him or selling him abroad only with no stipulation of returning to the UK for X years may ultimately benefit the club's reputation and the game in general. he has 3 years left on a contract. contracts are meaningless if they can't be enforced. I can't even imagine the dressing room at the moment knowing this is going on.

What’s all this I would take X amount from City plus Y player bollocks ?

If we don’t stand firm and say he’s not for sale at any price now piss away off we will forever be the joke of English football. The don’t worry it’s only Tottenham will always be the opposition attitude.

We aren't fucking about then. Levy is definitely very pissed off. Got a feeling this journalist knows more than he's saying here:

Tottenham are planning to hit Harry Kane with a significant fine after the striker failed to report back to the club on Monday.
Kane was due to return for Covid testing and the start of pre-season after an extended break following the European Championship but chose not to show on Monday morning, as he stepped up his efforts to force through a transfer to Manchester City.
Spurs are disappointed by his decision and in the circumstances feel they have no choice but to hit their vice-captain with a substantial fine for breach of contract.

The final penalty is likely to be dependent on how the situation unravels, with it unclear when or whether Kane will agree to return to the club in the foreseeable future.

Clear to where Harry's £100 million valuation of himself in that interview came from then
Very clear.

Pep's little emoji comment on his post was a clear indicator too. They have clearly spoken and I imagine him and Charlie Kane are getting advice from City on how to make it happen.

We will sell if we get an offer that the decision makers view as better for Spurs than keeping Kane for the duration of the contract. And we should.

easy to say but have him train with the kids. a few weeks of that plus the dogs own abuse he'd get and you'd be surprised how sobering it would be.

He has to take some responsibility for where we currently are (not the brunt of it, just some). He ousted Poch when things were rough to get Mourinho in as he thought that'd guarantee him trophies. Then he sided with Mourinho to keep him past his welcome.

Is this based on any inside knowledge or just hearsay?

The thing is the club didn’t pay anything for Kane fee wise so we can let him sulk until the window closes and in WC year he will have to come to his sense and crack on otherwise he will ruin his career and his chances at the World Cup next summer. It’s not like we need a return on investment…

I genuinely amazed Kane is trying to pressure the club to accept a derisory valuation from city.

Like who? Seriously mate, like who? Who would you guarantee could just arrive at N17 and immediately score us the goals Harry does every season? Someone from the Dutch league, the Italian league, the German league, the Spanish league...who? Maybe someone from South America...? Africa? Who?

Remember, we're playing in the European Dustbin League now and have been drawn against the mighty Lindisfarne (I bought all their records back in the day) so I wonder which shit-hot striker wouldn't be able to resist that prospect, eh?

Not being funny, but we may have loads of dosh if he goes, but I don't think there's very much we could do with it right now, plus we'd be 20+ goals short this season, not to mention the fact we'd miss his amazing work-load which shouldn't be discounted either.

Sorry to be a bit 'sarky' mate, but it's been a hell of a day. :)

Vlahović would be my choice, a young quality player with pace and a good in the air. I don't think that Paratici would have too much trouble identifying a suitable replacement.

If we get a centre-back from them, it should be Laporte. Romero + Laporte would be great.

You think Laporte ticks the box of actually wanting to come to us? He's obviously the better player but no chance he would come to us. He'd have his pick of teams.

"MAKE A STANCE!" Jamie O'Hara BACKS Harry Kane after he fails to arrive at Spurs's training ground - YouTube

Jamie O'Hara misreading the room I think.

How dare he talk about "real" fans being OK with Kane swanning off to City. I was a "real" fan before you were born Jamie. He talks about being here as a kid, which is true, so he owes us as much as we owe him if you want to make that argument.

Ultimate professional my arse.

Imagine the shit show if this was Pogba trying to do the same to get his move to PSG.

But for some odd reason the media are basically supporting Kane.
