So question for the masses:

Assume that Kane is definitely leaving (i.e. he and the club know, but the deal has not been announced) - what part should he play in the match against Shakhtar?

I go back and forth - but I am currently leaning towards keep him, and the distraction, away, given that the team is preparing for the season.

But, I can also see wanting to give him a late run out to say his good byes. I would let him say his good byes via social media - like most players, and keep the squad focused on the task at hand.
My guess is until Ange is told he's officially off he'll be starting Kane every game and giving him lots of minutes.

All the rumours before were a total package of €85m, everyone knew that wouldn't be enough.

Do people actually believe Bayern are going to be willing to go high enough?

If he is leaving, him and Hugo deserve a massive send off. Last 5 minutes and walk around the ground.

Nope, as soon as they went public, you knew it was because they don't want to pay.

It's pretty clear that we're waiting on the Kane deal before pulling the trigger on CB's
Is it clear or is it a guess?

Was Porro also dragged out because we were waiting on Kane?

Maybe these are multimillion pound deals and when the sides are close in valuation it can be done fast (Vic) and when there's a big difference in valuation or terms it takes longer.

High enough for us fans expecting a record British sale or high enough for the the powers that be to be satisfied?

Either way, expect a shit load of spin from both our camp and Bayern's.

run out. a 10 minute cameo won't affect the teams growth at all. And it also tells him how much hes loved at the club. In case things don't go well in Germany.

Well they've made a bit of a rod for their own back by making such a public show of their desire to sign him. Big pressure and expectations from their fans and Tuchel now with little/no talk of back-up options.

Unless they're willing to look at someone like Muani as an alternative, I think they'll offer more within reason. If Levy's genuinely holding out for 100m quid I think this could well be a giant waste of everyone's time, though.

When we sell our greatest ever striker later this week, I don't think we should waste the money on another striker or reinforcements at CB.

Personally I think we should use the money to make The Cheese Room a reality

No football club of our size and stature should be without a cheese room

No idea whether they'll pay, but (1) they can afford to, (2) they badly need a centre forward, (3) they've been pricks in the media, and (4) this is likely their only realistic chance to sign Kane.

Again, who knows whether they'll cough up, but if you have one chance to sign arguably the best striker in world football right now, minimum top three, then you likely aren't going to get him for the price you want to pay.

Sky saying £20m gap and we're insisting on a buyback clause. Wonder what Bayern's latest offer was.

Gotta be 80 million v 100 million. And the “at least” language makes me think Bayern’s offer is 80 including contingent add-ons. If Spurs are asking for 100 mill, no contingencies then that feels a significant gap.

Our camp have literally not engaged in anything around this all summer. All of it is coming from Bayern, except for the weird Lewis says Levy has to sell him story, which came from United.

Conversations should be starting at £100m.

Exactly... and with PSG interested and the Saudi's throwing money at Mbappe and Osimhen (120 mil bid rejected from Napoli... with two years left on contract)... we should never accept Bayern's low offer...

He can flip burgers for all I care, it’s a meaningless friendly.

But supposing we are twenty mill apart, surely the two parties can meet in the middle rather than let this drag on?

I mean are Bayern going to walk away over ten mill in an eighty or ninety mill deal?

And we must have spent something like three mill on Kane’s salary from May until now. It will be another mill if we keep him on the books until the end of the window. It’s literally costing us millions to keep Kane while Levy negotiates the deal to sell him.

Totally agree. Obviously it's a high stakes negotiation but if he wants to go, get the best price you can now and then buy some defenders. If this ends up dragging on until the end of the window it will fuck us big time.
