Personally I’d have stayed at spurs as we’ve just bought Maddison in, going to be playing a lot more attacking and also look to finally be securing a centre back.

Grass isn’t always greener, look at Mane going there last summer.
If the dressing room was upset about Kyle Walker's contract, what do you think this will do to it?

Edit: and if there is any substsance to an England - Germany rivalry, it can't help that the club broke/bent the rules for two Brits. Just heard from a friend from Munich saying that most of his friends think that the fee is ridiculous and that he is not a good fit tactially.

Just looking up global audience numbers for football leagues across the world. Most reports don’t even have Bundesliga in the top 5.

Nobody will ever persuade me that this is not a very weird career decision for all kinds of reasons. Not least the options he’s potentially turning his back on come next summer as a free agent.

looks like the constant “not won a trophy” line regularly pumped out by media and rival fans has really got into his head so he’s just taking the easiest option to put that right despite the consequences
I really want to believe that the backlash from the fans after the failed City move really effected Harry and that him going to Bayern now provides him the opportunity to maintain such a positive legacy with Spurs, give us a good fee for his services and still allow him to play for a club that matches his footballing ambitions. I think he realizes the backlash he would face from Spurs supporters if he left on a free to an English club in the spring.

my worry is Levy playing silly bollocks and leaves it to sell Kane at the last minute and we dont improve that area of the team...not as if we havent seen it before..

Jason Burt says Levy has ignored deadline and that ball is back in BM court whether they are going to try and proceed further with a possible deal. Tbh I don’t think many people really know what is happening.
I’d love to see him stay. I just think it’s more likely we are seeing these leaks to allow us to get our ducks in a row before clubs know we have a cash injection.

If all of a sudden Bayern get linked to other expensive strikers there might be hope. But right now it just feels inevitable.

He goes there every year about this time because I remember regular summers of uproar and messages about it being ridiculous that he goes away at this time of the transfer window.
It is making me laugh that ze Germans are making a news story of him fucking off to Florida.

He is a C-Suite level individual in a modern business. I'm sure he has a laptop with him and has his mobile attached to his hand 18 hours a day like the rest of us.

I'm pretty sure he can still work from the far off backwoods of....Miami.

I’ve made my peace with him going. I don’t like how Bayern have behaved with them publicly tapping him up a year ago and some other shenanigans recently but I’d rather he go overseas than play against us twice a year.

I’ve been fully behind Ange since we were heavily linked and if Kane had stuck around only to go next summer it might have undermined any progress we make in Ange’s first year. Now - assuming Kane is indeed out - we can fully start the Postecoglou revolution. Besides, being “the Harry Kane team” since we left White Hart Lane brought us no real success on the pitch and only ridicule off it.

Players come and go, including legends. Time to move on.

COYS.
Always.

My memory is hazy on specific timelines but is Berbatov the only real example of this in relation to sales? If so, you’d like to think even Levy realised it was not a good strategy. In fact, he did to some extent show he had learned his lesson by lining up the Bale money deals before finally allowing Bale to go.

Why? If the offer wasn't acceptable i'd rather we just outright rejected it and kept him here for the season. I'm in the sell camp but we can't let negotiations drag on into next week.
Just because it would be hilarious after BM's dirty tricks and deadlines to stick two fingers up and make them wait till we are ready.

Depends how BM phrased their offer. If they really said “unless you accept our offer of 85m by midnight we will walk away” then why should DL have to expressly reject it? In fact it might be useful info for the future to see if they are the type of club that try to impose a strict deadline but then come crawling back afterwards if a club doesn’t immediately bow down to them.

I might be being very naive here, but i genuinely think his feelings for the club/fans have pushed him to go to Bayern. By going there he's allowed us to get a decent fee, and he's gone to a non PL club which softens the blow considerably in my eyes, and more importantly it leaves him in a position to always be a Spurs hero, whereas leaving on a free and going to Utd for example wouldn't go down well with the majority of fans and would definitely tarnish his legacy. I see it as a move of convenience and compromise in order to protect his bond with Spurs......which if true (and i'm probably talking bollocks) begs the question why go.

If he plays Vs Brentford, I can’t see him going after that, especially after what he said about it being disruptive.

I reckon we'll have news of Bayern pulling out by the end of the weekend

I think few is agreed, Harry to talk directly himself to Bayern now, whilst Daniel is off on holiday. Announced Tuesday, Wednesday next week. That's sadly my take anyway.
