However I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse and dog passports no longer exist.
They haven't since we left the EU.
Now they would need an Animal Health Certificate.

So calling it out as BS as you'd think they'd be up to date with the legally required travel documents needed and not passports.

Still expecting him to be gone though.

I don't think it's fair to call it out as bs. It's 4th hand info at this point. The mates Mrs could have said I've done the animal health certificates, the mate says what's that? The Mrs says its like a dog passport. This gets passed on to the op and they post it in here.

Not saying this is true or not but calling out people for passing on info in good faith is a bit of a dick move especially when there's a real simple explanation
