Personally I'd always be bitter at Levy for never putting a trophy winning team around our best ever player. Getting money for him now wouldn't make any difference for me.

In fact I'd respect Levy more for not selling him and spending the next year trying to convince him to stay.

I'll never celebrate us getting any fee for a player we should have never had to sell.
We once had a team capable of winning trophies. It’s not DL fault we shit the bed in the CL final.

Yeah but look at most teams who win major trophies. They don’t win every single final, it’s the fact they get to finals repeatedly that gives them a chance. For example Liverpool lost the final the year before beating us. Even Man C lost a CL final before winning it.

If Levy achieves this it will be one of his greatest achievements at the club.

But I just struggle to see it from Kane’s perspective. Levy’s poor management of the club has effectively squandered the gains we made under Pochettino. The last four seasons have been more or less a write off. If I’m Kane I’m not sure what Levy can do to convince me.

That’s not to say Kane won’t decide to stay for other reasons though. He may have doubts about moving to Germany, he may decide he wants to stay in the Premier League and Spurs is his best option etc.
This is the reality, the damage has been done, we are at this point because of the debacle of the last few years which has led to Kane adamant he won't sign a new contract, everything else stems from that.

So what your saying is no matter what players you have there’s no guarantee you’ll win anything?

I’m looking forward to one day talking about the long term project under Postecoglu rather than this short sighted if Kane stays maybe we’ll qualify for the CL this season stuff that I’d hoped we’d left behind after the Jose and Conte period.

I mean it’s fine for people to say nothing’s changed with the new stadium, but they then can’t complain about Beyoncé and go kart tracks. I think that’s my major issue with ENIC out: the methods aren’t really what’s been criticised, it’s the results, which are a complete crapshoot.
I dont think anyone would complain about Beyonce and Karting if it was felt that we were using our new found riches in a way to actually compete to WIN THINGS rather than be there or there about on the cheap.
The goons dont generate the revenue that we do with their stadium and they haven’t had champions league money for 7 years or so, but they have just had an excellent season and rather than rest on their laurels they have gone out and smashed their transfer record on Rice - who will improve them.

I dont mind if we have a Beyoncé concert every Wednesday night, so long as the money generated is ploughed back into the team with the singular purpose of winning silverware.

If the enormous revenues we now generate were being used and used properly Kane would have signed a new contract, and we wouldn’t be in danger of losing one of our greatest ever players days before the season starts for fear of losing him on a free next year.

This is the sad thing, and it makes me really angry - unlike Bale and Berbatov and Modric, I think Kane would like a reason to stay. He would I am sure much rather win things here than at Bayern, but he knows as we all do and as history has shown that Levy/ENIC will never do what is needed to make his dream and ours a reality.

Personally my desire to see him play more for us - especially in this Ange team - is greater than my fear of him going to a PL rival.

Multiple sources have said he hasn't ruled out a new deal after the window, even if low possibility.

I'll use the PL rival thing to help justify the sale to myself if it happens, but that's all really. Nothing stopping a PL side buying him off Bayern down the road anyway.

Of course Bayern will bid again, they feel they're extremely close to an agreement so why walk away with their tails between their legs after so much work. I still think Harry is off, but I do think it depends on whether we can line up the incomings we want.

Do you lot believe Kane would stay if he won the FA Cup this season?
That’s a tough one - could be yes, or he could say I have done it now, I have the monkey off my back and can leave in good conscious, Really dont know

You may absolutely be right and of course everyone is entitled to feel how they feel. I just remember us selling Gazza, selling Ginola, selling Berbatov, Modric, Bale etc. and looking back I’ve never felt glad we received the money and always look back wishing I’d got to see them play for Spurs more.

£100M is a lot of money. Watching the worlds best striker in a team that actually wants to attack might be priceless. I want to watch it, I want my kids to watch it and even financially there are so many ways this can work out and we make the money back even if Kane leaves for free.
This is the correct take on it.

We as fans shouldn't give a shit about the money, there is less than a 1% chance that we manage to spend it on a player who is going to be as much a pleasure to watch wear the Lilywhite as Kane is.

Once he goes whether that is now or in 6/7/8 years time we are all going to yearn to watch a player of that calibre turn out up top for us the same way we'd all love to watch Bale/Modric/Hoddle turn out again. Special players envoke a special feeling as a fan watching them.

he's a generational talent and i'd love to watch him one more season even if that meant we got nothing for him next year.

I think it’s possible to have the best squad of players (and coaches) in the world and still not win anything over a season or two. But eventually if you sustain that you will win something.

We had a very good team for two or three years but we didn’t sustain it. Actually by the time we reached the CL final we already past our peak and in decline. Liverpool were a better team than us by then. I think we would have won trophies if we had sustained 2016-17 levels for a few more seasons.

Personally no, as i think he wants to join an established contender for the remainder of his prime career.

Whatever progress we make, a year wont be not enough to convince him we'll be up there contending for the title/on multiple fronts year in year out, and hanging around in the hope of nicking 4th and possibly a second fa cup if hes lucky i just dont think is what he's after.

Why are you saying that? Based on what? Stay factual for your own sanity. This whole thing is getting weird now.
Because Richy has had hardly any pre season with the squad, and might end up being our main striker. We have prepared with Harry, and from the latest itk it does look like it will happen.
