From what I saw of his goals for the under 21s he has one of the best shots on him at the club, he scored a few nice free kicks as well as I remember. He does have good technique but he's not the finished article so doesn't have the consistency and that's why he needs minutes. As long as he keeps producing goals and assists he'll get his chances though.

Watching Saturday's game I was struck by how slow he looks, although perhaps he's deceptive. Good technique though, and has a "footballing brain". Maybe, as some have said, he'll become a Teddy "extra-hard-is-in-his-head" Sheringham kind of striker.

He is blatantly not a 'number 9' anyone who is expecting him to be so simply because of his build is going to be dissapointed. What he is is a number 10 with lots of potential, intelligent movement and an eye for a pass. This inherrent need to grind OUR players down with constant criticism is doing my head in

It always seems to be the young lads coming through the youth teams that seem to get the most stick. They need the fans on their side not writing them off after a handful of games

Agree, yet still everyone seems to want homegrown players in their teams.

Still don't rate him as a striker at all. Think he looks weak, easily brushed off. No pace, no close control ball skills, terrible shooting, clumsy, uncomposed of clinical aggressive edge

Yet he does seem to have an eye for a pass and semi decent movement. Maybe as a deep lying forward were his main purpose is to assist and pop up in the box to score a few goals will be his thing. A Gus poyet lite

As line leading forward though, nope don't see it. Shot technique and composure is much too poor

HE'S 21 YEARS OLD FFS!!!

What is wrong with people. Do you think this is FIFA where all players reach their potential the day they turn 18?

I don't get our fans sometimes.

No, he may not be the fastest or strongest but that's not true at all. You may not rate him but that's not fair on him.

He may not do it often because he's unselfish but he can strike a ball well from a distance and in front of goal he's a good finisher.

Have to agree with this, one of the problems with some of todays fans is they think that because they win on FIFA football in the REAL world is as simple as the gamesthey play.

He is young and English, therefore, expectations are going to be high no matter what which is slightly unfair to the lad.

To be honest, I had my doubts about Kane following unremarkable loans spells - mostly, his last one to Norwich (to be fair he was injured for most of the spell but hardly set the world alight in a team struggling for goals).

However, over time and with more games under his belt in a Spurs shirt - he's starting to really impress me with his link up play with a strike partner or attacking mids. He may never be a 20+ goals a season striker but i'm happy to have him in the squad and glad he's been given a chance

Edit: his goal scoring record for our youth team and England U-21 does suggest he is capable of getting goals

Pretty sure even FIFA has youth player progression over the course of seasons!

Yeah I remember seeing him have a few good cracks at goal. But it's rare like lennons shooting ability

4 of the 9 goals he scored for Millwall were from 20 yards or further out, a couple placed brilliantly, a couple of piledrivers.

It's honestly like you watch him with your eyes closed and just say what your imagination is showing you in your mind.

The main complaint is that you're not giving him time.

I know you think a handful of games a season is enough time, but it really isn't. Let's see how he's done by say Christmas (well I would say realistically by the end of the season) and re-visit. I am convinced he'll have scored some goals, made some assists, and put in some good performances.

If he's done that, I'd say that'd be a runaway success for a 20 year old striker.

There's so many of these posts now this place is getting depressing..

Blah blah blah, he's crap, he's crapper - bang average, BANG average - going nowhere. Squad is crap, top 8 if lucky. Didn't watch the match but not surprised he sounded rubbish. When I was 20 on my Fifa career I was scoring 2 gpg consistently.. we wasted all our Bale money.. Que?

..Oh, but despite all this, I'd love it if all of you were right and he's good - but he won't be, so I'll be saying I told you so.. which I really hope I wont have to, but mark my words, I will have to..

He reminds me a lot of Mark Falco. Slow, not showy, overshadowed by Archibald and Crooks but he had a bloody good career at Spurs and kept some expensive players on the sidelines with his goals and all round contribution.

Kane is the most promising youth player we have had since Ledley King, the first striker to make the first team squad in about 15 years. Are you really going to get down on "one of our own" because he isn't the WunderKid that people think just happens?

Christ he has forced his way into the squad last season and is now going to have plenty of playing time for this season.

He might not have the pace of other players but that's not the be all and end all, it didn't stop him assisting the winner on Saturday, when superstar senior players couldn't do it themselves. Just be thank full that our youth set up is producing players if such poor quality that they play a major part in stealing 3 points away from West Ham at Upton Park

Best post I have read in a while, fed up with fans putting down a quality youth academy player with bags of potential, fans have no patience anymore ,I'm a big fan of Kane
