This is the difference between paying high performing players a salary in line with the market and paying high wages to unknown quantities when signing them.
Spot on! It won't dent the media but what a message the club have just sent out to the market!

Great news. Pay the lad whatever he wants. A genuine world class player at Spurs and he didn't cost a penny.

Spurs in Meltdown!

Tottenham have failed in their attempts to attract top players so have resorted to paying their own players high wages.

Despite not winning any trophies in his time at Spurs or the golden boot last season Spurs have signed Harry Kane into a huge money deal.

A close source said: “Harry is delighted with the contract but knows he needs to win something.”

Spurs have failed to sign any new players in the couple of weeks since the season ended.

They are now having to extend contracts of existing players as a result.

A close source to Pochettino said: “Despite signing a new contract he knows these are worrying times.”

I like the way it was announced on the big screen of the new stadium, proper classy stuff.

It's the small things that get me

Well done Kane and Spurs. Glad to see our talisman extend and on a good salary to match.

Is he wearing the new kit in that selfie clip on spurs official?

Just reading the Guardian report on his new contract and saw this:-
Kane has previously been linked with moves to Manchester United and Real Madrid, but the latest agreement shows he sees his immediate future at Spurs.

Wrong on both counts, he was never linked it was just paper talk and six years is hardly his immediate future is it?

Not 4 years

Not 5 years

6 Years!!

But I don't understand..........what about when the "big boys come calling".......isn't it "impossible to turn down Real Madrid (that lovely man from Sky said so, so it must be true).........we didn't win a trophy.........we're moving into a new stadium so we have no money (Jamie Redknapp and Paul Merson said so)

I'm so confused ??

A 6 year deal locks in so much value for Spurs that Kane is probably worth about half the cost of our new stadium.
