Is there no way we can stop Son going, given that we pay his wages and it's a desperate situation? Or do we have to release him?

There is another player in the PL who has stayed with his club rather than go because his club's need is greater. I think we should be asking for him to stay due to this injury but Sonny seems to be very patriotic

I thought if selected and he didn’t turn up for his country he couldn’t play for his club ?

Poch is really getting on my nerves now. ITK stated Janssen was his choice. He's back to fitness. Why the hell be so damn obstinate when we're struggling with injuries and we're paying him for nothing?? Both Toby and Rose fell out with Poch and were welcomed back in the fold. I'm totally bewildered by it.

Poch has already said tonight that Janssen is not in his plans!
I simply cannot believe that people are putting forward Janssen as a viable option. He hasn't played for us for yonks, and when he did, frankly, he wasn't nearly good enough. Why should he be now?
There must be better options.

That we are going to sign, knowing when Kane is fit they'll be warming the bench??

I remember those halcyon days of the long forgotten past; The Trifficassic Period. When we’d regularly raid other tribes of their assets... and occasionally get robbed of ours by that pesky RedDevil clan up Norf. Now we live in the Levyeval Age; a time of isolationism and thriftiness, as we have put our limited resources into building a colossal edifice to mark the greatness of the little Emperor, Daniel the Elder. Sadly, like with most major constructions of this era, the bloody thing won’t be ready until our chuffing great grandchildren are alive. And by then it won’t matter as we’ll likely be into the virtual EASportsozonic Period, and grand structures will be a thing of the past. Much like us all.

One of the best posts written on here.

Toby and Rose are good players. Jansen is well, shit.

Honestly think this could screw our season now. Son and both Kane out for potentially a month will totally screw us unless serious investment is made, not to mention the injuries to pretty much all our central midfielders bar 2 youth products. What a joke.

Agreed. It probably couldn't have come at a worse time either. Levy won't sanction any deals based on injuries, I'm certain of that. So we will have to rely on Pochettino to work magic with what he's got.

Maybe we should go all Stoke; sit deep and just hoof balls towards Llorente for the next couple of weeks.

Simply buying a striker wouldn't necessarily solve anything. Even if we get someone we want he would have to hit the ground running.

If Kane is fucked, then either Poch has to play Llorente or we make do and (Harry) mends. Poch's back up plan is no longer in his plans remember.

Why not ? Surely it’s better than relying on some 35 year old lump who is way passed his best. This is not Tranmere Rovers we are playing over the next month ffs!!! We got massive games, including a crucial semi final game v Chelsea. Where are our goals going to come from? Saha come in Jan and got the ground running. We need to sign a striker and 100% a central midfielder. If you think we are getting through the month with Skipps and Winks as our midfield then you seriously need to look at yourself mate. Reinforcements are needed urgently.

All but guaranteed to be out of Dortmund home, even with his fast recovery. Chelsea obvs in the cup, and away in the league, and will be touch and go for the final, should we get there.

Yesterday could well have totally fucked our season. Not only has it dragged us into a top 4 dogfight, but we just lost almost all the goals in our team.

Please do give a suggestion for a striker who would be worth signing and who is available.

Firstly, salt is required as with any ITK and unless we know the context for that choice it isn't so meaningful. Maybe Poch was given the option between taking a punt on Janssen and Shane Long? We don't know for sure what his other options were, and at the time Janssen was in the form of his career.

Poch's exacting requirements have got our parsimonious club where it is so we can't really doubt him too much if he's completely cut Janssen out of the loop, the guy must be miles off the pace.

As someone else pointed out, Toby and Rose had both proved themselves important players for us, and so it shows Poch can forgive personal things but only if you demonstrate the quality to play for one of his teams.

Isn't there this thing that some teams do when they're short of options....I think it's called signing a player? Maybe even a loan of a striker from somewhere. We used to do it many moons ago.

I think Andy Booth will have retired by now, mate.
