I'd be extremely shocked if kane signed an extension without get out clauses
Levy needs to be bold and tell him that we are going for titles and that the club will spend to get there.

No more inferior targets being brought in, sign the best young talent (Olise, Upemecano, etc) plus excellent players already proving their worth (Skriniar, Sabitzer).

I don't think we are a million miles away but we certainly need an injection of quality. Trim the squad too.

If Harry believes the club are doing everything possible, he'll stay. Make statements about how well we have done off the pitch and that we spend to remain competitive and his advisors will be telling him he won't have success here.

Just can’t imagine PSG would appeal to Kane even with Poch at the helm. Honestly think he’d rather hunt down Shearer and Greaves’ records than go and win Ligue 1.

Great point. if i recall correctly, didn't the ITK suggest that Kane wasn't happy with Mauricio at the end of his tenure? My impression was that Harry was gutted that he left but also thought it needed to happen.

One of the CL favourites though

Imagine Neymar watching Kane busting his balls in training while he just ambles around fannying with the ball doing a few flicks.

No, I cant imagine it either.

Levy doesn't really give in to player power but you have to think that with Son and Kane both negotiating new contracts, and Mourinho in charge, if he was going to be swayed into investing again this January/Summer they would be the ones to do it.

And that (player power) is why Poch may well struggle at PSG
This is a distinct possibility. His gruelling (and overrated) training schedules might face the same rebellion as he faced at spurs. Different when it's (that knob head) Neymar saying he won't do it over Capoue. As it depends if the board support him, in putting massively inflated egos in place who are your main marketable assets. I think poch will adapt his approach a bit and will have learnt from his previous experiences. I wish him well.

He wasn't at his peak then so they wouldn't have. Now he is. The next 4 years will probably be his peak years
He’d just had what can by any metric be described as a world class season (arguably his fourth in a row but that and the previous were pretty special) and the idea that he’d get even better beyond that was almost greedy, and while now people might say ‘he’s in his peak now’, back then it would have been ‘it’s a short career, can break your leg or tear your ACL at any times’. Either way there’s always a reason why our best player would want to leave, want clauses, etc according to this place.

I’m not saying he’d not want clauses, but the idea that it’sa foregone conclusion that he’d demand them to extend is just a bit odd, as is this whole ‘in his peak’ mentality. Different players peak at different times. Xavi played his best football in his thirties, Rooney, Henry and Owen were on the downhill by Kane’s age, Sheringham win player of the year at 34, Dele at 24 appears to have plummeted seemingly irrevocably from heady heights and Bale seems to have left his best in his mid twenties too.

So many on here seem obsessed with the idea that Kane will leave to the detriment of their enjoyment of him being here in the first place, I don’t get it.

I obviously don't know anything about business, but I wonder if Levy wanting to start negotiating a new contract for Kane has anything to do with Son's current negotiations.

I would think Son would want to be on parity with Kane (if he isn't already) or making more so that when Kane's contact come due and negotiates his own deal, Kane isn't making more than Son.

As you can clearly tell, I've no idea what I'm spouting but I must imagine Levy has to be thinking that he has two superstars and both need contract terms to their liking that doesn't upset the other in terms of thinking they are "lesser" than or not as valued.

Regardless, tie this gent down to another contact. He not only has shooting boots, but passing ones as well!

I think there might be something in this in so much as Son's contract might influence Kane's. I'm sure I've read that Kane has a clause that no other player can be on more than him (I'm sure others know far more about this than me) and if Son's agent is pushing for more money than Kane is currently on, it would have a knock on effect. Either way - do whatever it takes to keep both please.

Will be interesting how much we'd pay him. I was told by someone very close to it that with goal bonuses and whatnot H takes home £300k a week. Wonder how much higher than that DL will go.

As I posted earlier Totti of Roma said " you can go to Juventus / PSG / Bayern / Real /Barca / Man City / and be guaranteed to win trophies
But where is the challenge staying at Roma to win trophies that matter to me is the challenge " I am paraphrasing .
Would Kane try to win things at the club he obviously loves or will he take the money and the guarantee of trophies with clubs that because of endless money to spend on transfers winning trophies is expected and not the challenge winning something at spurs would pose.
I remember Kane saying how much he admired Totti and his staying at the club he loved to become a Roma Legend .
I get the feeling Kane is not the run of the mill money grabber and has true grit and would prefer to stay with spurs and break all spurs goal scoring records along with England goal records .

I think with Kane it is as simple as whether or not he believes we will challenge seriously for the title and the CL every year for the rest of his career. I imagine his discussions with Levy and Mourinho will be as focussed on squad and first XI investment as it is weekly wages.

Also, where's he going to go? Levy would ask minimum £150m, probably £200m. I can't see us ever selling him to an English club. Barca are bankrupt, Real are also skint and are trying to find the money to buy Mbappe and rebuild their stadium, an Italian club no chance, no point in him going to PSG.... Don't see where he can actually leave to.

Man City and PSG have the money. Real and Barca would miraculously "find" the money...ditto Juve. Bayern wouldn't pay that kind of money as it isn't their MO.

EDIT: £120m and Lautaro from Inter wouldn't be such a bad deal though

Liverpool lost couple of their best players just to become better and best team in Europe. He has a long contract, and if our recruitment isn't good enough we won't anything in any case.

Heavily bonus based contracts are normal w all our players. The media loves to make it out like we can’t pay people but a lot of our players make a good bit more than their standard weekly wage through these bonuses.
