Must say I have been one of the Harry Kane doubters the past few seasons and even said last yr that we should be cutting our losses with him as he was championship/lower prem at best... But he started to prove me wrong at the back end of last season and had a good 10mins against the Spammers so I'm hoping this is the yr he shows me what I couldn't see before as I'm all for being proved wrong if it means an emerging star in our ranks

Did you see the QPR game? how did they do? can they attack/defend and who is their key player?

Caught highlights. Seems their playing a 352 with Caulks/Rio/Dunne as the back three. They should be adding Leroy Fer and Vargas so they will be stronger by the time we play them.

I have been wrong about Kane in the past, I did say at one time he would never make it at Spurs, but I am slowly eating my words. Keep playing the lad in some capacity as he is improving almost in every game.

I agree with @davidmatzdorf here- Kane has completely proved me wrong and I thought he'd never make it with us- he's impressed me but I still think he has A LOT to work on. Someone in here seemed to suggest he was better than Soldado (not just better suited) and that's bullshit.

IMO Kane needs to improve his first touch and finishing because it lets him down so often- I couldn't give 2 shits about his pace if he improves those things as he'll be a wonderful striker.

Obviously, he's not the ideal player to use in FIFA though...
Kane has loads of potential and I think people forget he is only 21, besides he leads my attack in fifa and scores me plenty of goals

He is becoming one of my favourite players, probably because I'm excited that we have brought him through academy, he shows lots of potential and poch is going to improve him, also because I find my self hoping he will do well for us and maybe England as England desperately need a good centre forwRd, trying not to get too carried away tho lol

Pretty much perfect in summing up him, the situation he's in, and so many people's opinions on him (and why they have them).

Great article.

Agree.

With a few standard douchey comments at the bottom smh

This kid like any 18 year old, uses the internet for football forums, facebook, twitter etc and to read that you are shite and that you will never make it as a player must be soul destroying.

You'd have to be an idiot as a footballer to go trawling through forums on your own club after you have played a game, unless you were absolutely fabulous in that game. It really would be a big stupid mistake and I'm sure no footballer is actually that stupid.

By the way, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I think Kane will eventually be a better player than Wickham. Pretty sure they're of similar age, if not exactly the same. In my opinion, had Kane been in the youth ranks of a Championship or League 1 club he would have been pretty impressive, and seen as a great prospect. Liverpool would have probably bought him for £30m.

Let's not forget that with all of the hype and excitement surrounding Wickham, he wasn't exactly banging in the goals last season.

I posted this over 2 years ago. I know what player I'd rather have in my team now.

Yup, found a post by myself defending him on page one also <smug smiley> #harrykanehipster

I think he might be my favourite player at spurs at the moment (joint with Eriksen perhaps).

Doing great. Always had high hopes for him and he's going to be heavily involved this season and will take his chance I believe.

It's funny, even though Harry Kane is, well, Harry Kane, he brings a completely different dimension to the side we haven't had in a while. It seems he always knows where open space is and he is completely fearless and never stops. Pretty smart and quick reflexes/dribbling too. He breaks the monotony of the turgid attacks.

He may not look like a world beater but I think he will be an important player for us.
