I'm happy to hold my hands up and say Kane looks a great prospect. Probably two years ago I posted that I didn't think he (and Rose) would make it at Spurs. In the few matches I had based that on back then he looked slow, cumbersome and not overly agile. He has developed so much....and then some. Good touch, always available, great attitude, strong, works hard, team player, good hold up play, good link up play, can beat a man and finshes chances. Long way to go, but that's the thing about him.....he looks like he's eager and hungry to improve. He's Mr Tottenham in the making.

Kane looked the nuts in the youth setup and scored good technical goals from all kinds of angles. He always cleary had ability and he even used to be considered a bit of a free kick specialist at that level too if I'm not mistaken. Sure we didn't know if he would make the step up but some of the comments about him were pretty embarrassing.

Agreed - his range of goals is what impresses me as a young player. He still has a way to go and needs to keep working hard to develop but what i like is that he scores all kinds of goals. As a striker this is invaluable and when rating the technical ability of a striker - does it get any more important than that?

For me he's our most rounded striker and i'd play him for that reason alone. Ade doesn't have the consistency or the attitude. Soldado lacking in form and a bit of versatility for me. Kane for his relative inexperience has it all.

Yep for me it's got to be Kane and one other for the rest of the season. Soldado needs a run at the moment to see if he can build on his goal and recent good peformances but at the same time I reckon Ade is still our best striker when he plays to the best of his ability. That doesn't happen very often these days though and it sounds like he might be on his way out anyway.

Kane spent some time playing as a wide attacking midfielder didn't he? I wonder if that's what helped him develop the rest of his game or if it comes naturally to him? If it was playing in other positions that helped him then I hope we do the same with our current youth strikers, it would be nice to see another good all-round attacker come through over the next few years.

He has always had great footwork and could beat a man to give himself an extra yard. I think a lot of people are being surprised by his feet and the flair he is showing. Against France he did that Eriksen scoop trick. He tricked and megged the Partizan defender to almost get a pen and that is exlcuding his general dribbling ability. He knows how quick his is so he will dribble at a steady pace keeping the ball close and just touch it before the defender tries to tackle to get a foul or keep it away from them, or he will suddenly accelerate. Very clever player.

Also remember his freekick ability. There was a clip a few years back of him smashing one in from range that I can;t find anymore. He has changed his technique now to the Bale/Ronaldo style. He has scored one, got one on target against Partizan if he keeps working he will get dangerous

Yeah that was a fantastic free kick, I know the one you mean. The only question was whether or not he could produce the same at Premier League level and he's certainly showing that he can so far.

I didn't rate him early on but he really has come on. He has a bit of everything and will only get better. I like how direct he is and how he is always looking to shoot.

I think we have one of the best young striking prospects in the league. He is a better player than Berahino for me and 10 times the player that sanogo is at arsenal.

I think if we played him consistently he would have dips but would score 20-25 on all comps.

Why? I didn't hear a cacophony of voices saying he was a sure thing, natural born PL predator.

He hadn't filled out, there was no way of knowing if he would gain the power that is now enabling him to hold off defenders whilst running and competing for the ball. All you can do is best judge a player based on what you have available.

There were plenty of people writing him off saying things like "I guarantee Harry Kane won't make it at Spurs" despite at the time him only having played a few Europa League and other cup games. Rather premature, no?

Tell that to the Everton players - they couldn't cope with him today, and they are not a bad side .

I meant if he did then he would have created a few clear cut 1vs1 or a very quick counter attack moves. It would make a huge difference to play against .
I am complementing him by saying he has all the attributes to be a good player but also saying with that extra bit of pace he could have been a great player fuck that an outstanding player.

From Sky: Kane covered more than 13kms; the most by a Spurs player this year & more than all but two PL players have managed all season.

That stat of 13 lms run exceeds what we all saw on Sunday - Kane was putting in a huge effort against Everton to harrass the Everton defence and midfield, which was one of the reasons why he was a major factor in the 2 goals we scored.

Huge respect to the guy.

And another reason why he may not be up to starting on Wed. Much respect to the kid, he was fantastic.

I keep reading that Kane isn't that good technically. He's a clumsy looking runner, for shizzle, but I'd say there only Eriksen in our current side who can hit a ball more cleanly and accurately.

When he starts whipping the trademark 'Hurri-Kanes' into the top corner from 25, I think perception will change.

I almost can't wait to see what sort of a player he has become by the time he's 24.. lets hope he becomes a club legend - we fricken need one right now.
