We can’t just blame England. We have flogged Harry over the last few years, often playing him in cup games against lower league opposition because we didn’t have enough faith in failed purchases like Jansen and Llorente. He may have wanted to play constantly, but sometimes a player needs protecting from himself and for his own good and the team in the long term.
I love Son, but I still maintain he’s not a direct replacement for Harry, and the management at Spurs obviously think so, otherwise they wouldn’t have signed the other strikers.
It might not be easy, but we have failed to add to the squad to give him the odd rest and breaks he probably needed at various times over the last few seasons.
Hopefully he’ll be back to the player we know and is not suffering from mental and physical burn out.
