We can set our fee but this is telling Kane we will sell him. If the buying club decides to play hardball and bring the price down and negotiate then Kane's head could be turned anyway.

I have little doubt that negotiating such deals is not as easy as you think.

His head's already been turned. He's the top goalscorer in the league and the top assist maker in the league. And England captain, and on a long contract. We're well within our rights to ask for one of, if not the highest transfer fee of all time.

It's telling anyone that we are prepared to sell Kane - like any other player - if we can get an astronomical fee. Fair enough if he goes to Man. City for, let's say, £165m, but we don't want a scenario in which we are still negotiating in August. Just make it very clear under which conditions it can happen this summer.

People are already tired of it and it's not even June.

I was asking you what you think about Spurs and Kane, agree with you about world peace. ☮
Good point about gossip, just will check on real facts from now on.
Part of me thinks we should sell Kane if we get an offer of £150m or more. This is the summer to take advantage of other clubs poor financial situations.

Another part would be gutted to lose such an iconic player and worry that we'll struggle to buy the quality we need.

I think people do send themselves a bit nuts reading transfer rumours. I like to speculate a bit and decide who I want but it's best not to get too involved

Quality non-news story. Are the club looking to extend his contract?

There is no sign of either party wanting to talk contracts right now.
I would expect the club to be exploring a contract extension - even if it has a release clause - to entice Kane to stay another year for more wages.

Kane is correct to turn down any such overtures, but the club should make the effort.

People are tired of it because they're reading every link about him and thinking about it too much.

I don't necessarily agree with that Shady. He's played in 3 finals and multiple semi finals in his 7 years, along with a few title challenges.

He's had the opportunity to make a difference in these high profile games and hasn't really.

Compare him to Bale, who made the difference to RM in 2 CL finals and a couple of Spanish cup finals by getting winning goals, the CL fi al against Liverpool being the prime example when they were losing and he came on to change the game.

H has had his opportunities, but hasn't delivered when those key games have come up, so you can't really say the club has failed him. The club provided the platform for him to get the glory he craves, but he didn't step up on those occasions.
So when he wins stacks of trophies with City will that mean he stepped up in those games or would it be the fact he’s playing for a better team?

Rate optimistic or funny if you wish. We sold Bale for circa 90m 8 years ago. From hearings there is a MASSIVE CASH price on his head! And citeh as of today would not even consider that! Factor in that Daniel is seriously pissed off! Harry letting his family give extremely bad advice. Hire himself a proper ********** to manage affairs like this. Because this is not who he has around him remit. They don’t seem to have a scooby what they are doing.

And for the record, I am on the club’s side here. There is a right and a wrong way to go about this, and this isn’t it. Nobody didn’t force him to sign a very lucrative contract, with the help of Daniel getting him commercial tie-ins, which has proved very lucrative for him.

Delaney made this point in his article.

He said sources within the game are stunned that Kane hasn't appointed a super agent to get any deal done if he really wants to leave. He said it's basically completely essential in deals like this, to hire someone to broker the deal, not Charlie Kane.

The fact he hasn't, means he is going nowhere.

Surly the big clubs would priorities Haaland before Kane even tho Kane is home grown. Age wise and injury wise Kane doesnt make as much financial sense. I would also think Haaland would be a little cheaper then Kane. Obviously City, Utd and Chelsea cant all get Haaland, but i don't see Levy selling Kane to Chelsea and Utd seem to be going back for Sancho if reports are to be believed. They are not about to spend 2/300 mil on 2 players.

If Sancho is 100 mill, Kane is 150 easily. There is no universe where they would be the same price, so as you say United spending 250 on two players this summer? after a year with no crowds? nah, can't see it.

Cheers for the update @Hercules. I'm not surprised that city wouldn't entertain the kind of figure(s) that's in Levy's head.

I know on paper they can easily afford him if they wanted but if you look at the sums they've spent they've mostly been around the £50-£60 million mark with I think dias being their club record signing at £64 million.

I just can't see them blowing close to 3 times that on Kane, and probably why they are interested in haaland given his age and much lower transfer fee.

I was saying that last week. He needs to have a proper agent not his brother and dad acting for him. It’s ridiculous. They won’t be able to get him the kind of deal a proper agent could.

And even though City are pumped full of filthy oil money, they aren't really a club that blows the doors off the vault. Their record transfer is de Bruyne for 75 mill. They're not going to double their record to sign a 28 year old.
