We shouldn’t even consider selling him for anything less than a record fee. FFP has been suspended, City effectively have unlimited funds, and we’d easily be able to get the amount that has been mooted in the press a year from now with two years remaining on his contract. They can fuck off if they think they can get him for £100-150m.

Sky sports app gave him a 9 rating and said ‘welcome back £100m rating’. In what world has he ever dropped below? Sky seems determined to lower the price and get him sold.

Today’s performance showed he should stop dallying about the middle of the park when we’re on the attack

He needs to get himself in the final third and stay there

just a deadly finisher and far better for England when advanced than when he’s playing deeper

we need to get him better service at Spurs so he doesn’t have to go searching for the ball

I wouldn’t mind seeing him with a pacy number 9 in front of him, his all round game is good enough, bit of teddy about him

So true

his passing range is like Hoddle but his positional sense is like teddy as an out and out striker

I guess Sonny plays that pacey 9 role somewhat which is why they’ve flourished this year

But his last three goals show why you want him finishing as much as possible

he’s too far from goal at the moment and it can nullify him a little (and he’s still incredible)

Not really sure it is a foregone conclusion. 3 years on his contract remains. He only goes for a price and deal that suits Spurs this Summer. He can whine and whinny all he likes to the internal powers that be, but they hold all the cards. If he is desperate to leave, and wants to City, he needs to persuade them to do Daniel’s bidding.

Also, if England were to go on and win the Euros, I believe that is a game changer in terms of his mentality. Other than winning the World Cup… there is nothing bigger than captaining the first England team to win the Euros… and lift the trophy in Wembley no-less. That trumps FA Cups, Champions League, PL titles by a wide margin. especially at City. Just another medal bought and paid for. Makes for a pretty, personal trophy cabinet after retirement.

However…

Winning the Euros. Captaining England to their first major tournament win since 1966. Can’t buy becoming a legend.

I do genuinely wonder if he would feel differently should the aforementioned to come to fruition. Certainly scratches the itch.

After reading the interview he did with The NY Times I came away thinking “if England wins the Euros he’ll be happy to stay” and I maintain that stance.

I keep trying to talk myself into why it would be good to sell Kane for 150M this summer. His ankles are mostly shot. He is one injury away from losing most of his value. He’ll be a free agent at 30 and could walk. 150M this summer is probably worth 250M next summer due to all the financial distress clubs are facing. Etc, etc, etc.

But…no, I don’t ever want to see him playing for another club. Im not from England but was fist pumping every goal. Hope you guys win the Euros and that fills whatever void he thinks a move will fill. Wishful thinking but Harry belongs at Spurs and is priceless to us.

I know it does seem like he spends too much time coming deep and we need to improve the service to him but he won the golden boot last season, top scorer and top assister.

Or, alternatively he might have the thirst for more trophies.

I think that he would still be desperate to win club trophies. Nevertheless, as others have pointed out, the club aren't going to sell him unless a satisfactory bid comes in.

He loves England and he loves spurs. Winning with England might show him how much it would mean to do it with us.

I've thought this and I'm hoping it's true. Gerrard stuck at Liverpool because he had that CL win. You win a tournament like this you're a legend, no one can take that away. We'll see.

I think holding out for this hope shows how desperate we are to keep Harry (and rightly so). Shit, as difficult as it would be as an Irish man to watch England lift the trophy i would be able to take some joy if it meant Harry commited to Spurs ??????

If he captains England to winning this tournament, and bags 1 or 2 more along the way, it could either quell his thirst for trophies an tiny bit and get him to give us one more season, or it could make him hungrier to leave so he can win for more.

If it is the latter and he feels he needs to leave, that same success of winning the trophy as variation and a heavy scorer will make his price tag even higher, though potentially also make City more likely to pay it.

I don’t see that he leaves this summer but if he does, at this point the money will be absolutely stupid, even more than he’s worth to us in reality.
