Disagree with the logic based on logic!

its relative as the players we would be buying are cheaper too. Wait next window and whilst we receive more then other players will be more also.

Still don't think its true...

Not fully sure whether you're agreeing or disagreeing, but we're in unique territory here - there are a ton of high quality players going for half price or less right now. There's no way Kane would be seriously attracting bids of £200m+ in this or any future window, COVID or not. That kind of money isn't spent on players over 25.

If Kane moves for £160m, he'll be the second most expensive player in the world, during a time when nearly every club in football is skint.

In theory, £150m or so right now can buy several very good players. In other windows, it might only get you one or two. For example, we paid around that for Sess, NDombele, and Lo Celso.

In this window, you could probably buy Griezmann, Coutinho, and Ousmane Dembele and still have change - nearly £500m worth a few seasons ago. Not saying you would go for those exactly, but there's a lot of bargains to be had.

Calm down guys, I just don't see this happening. The source is shit. You're telling me the Kane to City story is broken by some random no name Sun reporter?

We aren't selling him this summer.
Assistant editor at the Sun, very much not a no-name. Just not a sports journalist.

Can help but think some media are flinging shit at the wall and hoping it sticks. Kane may want to hear options to move, and he won't be short of suitors, but I just cannot see any club including City afford what we would be happy to sell him for.

The article said he went to the caribbean after the final then jetted back for his brothers wedding! What bollocks unless it was a very short trip!

As he was playing golf with Peter crouch last Friday according to this!

Hold on a second, the person who wrote that article isn't even a footballer reporter....

IIRC they sometimes use a fake reporter name to report some of the breaking stories as they don't want to compromise a source on a big deal. Alan Nixon is great for us so there's a chance (I hope I'm wrong) that this is from him but he just can't post it himself as its too sensitive.

Alan Nixon who writes for them has aka reluctantnicko on Twitter. He hasn’t written this.

Yeah, all depends on the journo.

For example, I've seen Alan Nixon and Tom Barclay have been very accurate with our news.

Meanwhile, I don't think I've seen Paul Jiggins get a single story correct.

This is an actual person. They're the assistant editor for the whole paper. Not a pseudonym to protect an identity.

Story clearly coming from Kane’s side. Charlie Kane follows her on insta.

I’m not as sceptical about this source as everyone else seems to be.

A senior journalist at The Sun who doesn’t work in sports has no reason to start speculating on a Kane to City story with no basis.

To me - that makes it more credible. She was probably at the wedding.

I think best case scenario is she understood that Levy will let Kane leave for £160M, and not that City have, or will, actually bid that amount.

But, I think he is gone.
