People are ignoring City just because they have Haaland. Who says they won't be back in for him?

Reasons why they would:

-They went for Kane originally so they were probably open to the possibility of having both

-It stops any of their rivals strengthening

-They can easily afford him

-It gives them a rotation option + more creativity

-Kane would almost certainly win trophies there (United has no guarantee). They would also be more likely to win the CL which Kane must fancy

Utd would be a risky move for him as it's not inconceivable that they don't kick on next season and he finds himself in a similar position to where he is here.
They're also struggling a bit with Haaland as a direct centre forward. It's a bit like when Pep got Ibrahimovic at Barca and then ended up selling and playing Messi central.
He might want Kane still as he fits their preferred style of play.

There's a feeling that the potential investment is throwing up all sorts of uncertainties about what we are doing right now, and that once that is sorted one way or the other we'll be able to set out our stall accordingly. It makes a lot of sense that this would be the case as the financials could change at any moment. At any other club I'd buy into that train of thought, but with Levy?

I agree but why is Levy so incapable of seeing the bigger picture?

Since Man City have Haaland what other elite club would you trust to win trophies in the EPL? Much of a muchness so take the loyalty points and hunt down Shearer’s record.
I agree. I think Kane did want to go to City. But he'll be as loyal as his options. I'm not convinced any elite club is going to put up the money for him.

Utd are the most likely team to do so but there's no guarantee of trophies so my guess is he might just "stay loyal" to us.

Without real investment I'm not over sure what the benefit is to the club. He is coming up 30 and this is the last chance to get big money for him to reinvest. If we are in a rebuild we can't be building around him as he would of likely started to fall off a bit by the time the team peak. It feels again a bit of mixed policy?

Kane is a legend of the club but could be a case of best case scenario for both maybe to part ways.... Unless we get some investment then it's a massive different story and already have a major part of the puzzle.

The club is performing a balancing act with their PR atm.
It’s funny the club seem to know how to use PR to ‘control’ the fans but yet they don’t know how to put together a simple plan for football success. Sounds like a corporate machine to me rather than a ‘football club’ ?

I’d rather we never see a penny for him and he walks away at the end of his contract than sell him to someone, you don’t sell someone of his stature and accomplishments at this club.
