Problem there is Brighton would want almost all of the Kane money for him (I reckon they'd be asking for 70m or something ludicruous) and that's a hell of a lot to punt on an 18 year old even if he is hugely promising.
I actually think he is that good

Certainly not more of a risk than the likes of David or Vladhovic

I suppose it could be. It could also be he'll pick up the phone to anyone who calls and tell them whatever they want to hear......... He definitely thinks he's more important/influencial than he is, and I know people in the industry who literally laugh at him and how he operates.
Yes. It’s the ultimate cos play for him. Gets to go round to the biggest clubs in the world and sit around the boardroom table with the most influential people on world football. I don’t blame him for that. Money can’t buy experiences like that.

Not sure if, as a family, they have retained a connection with a proper agent - as they did when they tried to correct the previous Man City mess, but I just don’t see how a move to Germany is best for Harry at this point.

His signing on fee will be extraordinarily larger if he waits a year and goes on a free. It will also give him a wider choice of clubs rather than just the ones this summer who 1) have the money and/or 2) Levy will deal with.

And it does at least give him the chance to see how this season goes with us.

This isn't to do with Charlie Kane though, this is about Daniel Levy letting £70-100M walk out the door for free next June.

It staggers me that fans on one hand moan about Levy penny pinching over £4.50 (rightly so) on an incoming deal and on the other think he's willing to let a player worth up to 10% of the cost of the stadium walk for free??

Spurs are better with Kane obviously, but we've seen this year that he's no guarantee of a Champions League place. Levy is a businessman and 'hoping' we get into the CL and 'hoping' he signs a new deal won't even cross his mind.

This is a completely different scenario to City two years ago. Levy will put out the usual bluff that we have 'no intention of selling', he'll try to up the bids as much as he can, but any club in their right mind will know that Levy has nothing in his hand and it will happen.

Sorry lads, we need to brace the fact he's off.
To be honest mate I don't really care, as he cost us nothing as far as a transfer fee is concerned.

Levy clearly said "the stadium was the game changer" that would allow us to compete as far as transfers and wages were concerned, and I'm holding him to that. There should be enough money to do our business regardless of Harry Kane's situation.

Kane is the best player in the group. No arguments.

But - I would say Richy + Maddison will have more goal involvements than Kane + Dier.

2 years ago when everyone played - Richarlison and Maddison had 39 g+a combined, Kane and Dier had 29

If Maddison comes in and plays - it will be almost certainly at the expense of a CB, hence the Kane + Dier comparison.

Make him captain, Offer him 300k a week contract + bonuses, invest 150 million into the squad.

We should easily have the money to do that with sales and transfer budget.
He would need a lump sum signing-on fee in the multi millions as well because that’s why he’d be missing out on by not leaving for free next year.

Don't think it matters. I'm sure Levy has already tried to offer Kane a new contract, and i'm sure we'll spend near £150m on the squad this summer. It won't be enough though.

Kane wants to win league titles and champions league titles NOW. He's definitely good enough. Unfortunately we're nowhere near winning either.

One way or the other this cant be allowed to just rumble on all summer undermining Ange and the new 'project'.

If Harry wants out, to the point hes willing to move abroad and essentially give up on Prem record, then we need to be realistic here and try to find suitable terms with Bayern Munich(or Real Madrid etc) for his sale.

Harry for me is our greatest ever player and I have nothing but respect and admiration for the man, but we really shouldn't be letting a £100m+ asset walk out the door for nothing on the very, very slim hope we may win or do something this season that convinces him to stay.

My ideal scenario is Harry commiting to a new deal, getting the arm band and leading us forward into a better place.

But being totally objective, that's not happening is it.

A fools hope.

Going to Bayern is a bit of a waste for him BUT if reports are true and he does actually leave (still reckon he stays) at least it won't be another english club if he chooses Munich

Going to Bayern is just so fucking boring. At least in Spain there's two of them that compete.

If he goes to Munich, I’d not be surprised to see him back in England at United or Newcastle for the 2024/25 for about 50-60m.

Whether we like it or not, we have to sell him now. No chance he’ll sign a new contract in the next year - he has all control from January. He can sign pre contact in January with Munich for free - that’s 6 months away so it makes no financial sense at all.

It will be a sad day, but the time is right for everyone. Just delaying the inevitable. Nearly better that Ange gets a chance to start a fresh without this hanging over his first year at the club. He’ll be quizzed on it everyday. It will just get boring once again.

I can't stomach another protracted year of will he won't he like we had with Conte last season and Kane the previous one. If he won't sign then I would be in favour of selling. He is a spurs legend and is world class but we saw how much Contes future overshadowed our season and while this is slightly different I do think it will have a big impact on season.
Queue negative ratings but I don't have another will he won't he stay in me after last 2 years.

If Kane won’t sign new deal then , I hope we get Goretzka or Sabitzer or Gnabry with 70m … then use that 70m on Jonathan David

His potential sale fee is like 10% of club debt. I cannot see Levy letting him go on a free next season - just can’t see it .

these players are going to happily leave Bayern and come to Europe-less tottenham on a wage cut? Not a chance
