It’s not the leaving it’s going to ManU. I’m from the NW and hate them with a vengeance. Plus they took Carrick, Sherringham and Berbatov from us which was bad enough this would be beyond th pale.

I'd say going to Chelsea on a free would be far worse and if Kane wants to stay in the same home, much more likely......

Not sure I could stand another Spurs icon going to a local rival on a free.

On the other hand.

We replaced Bale with an excellent playmaker in Eriksen and 2 good squad players in Lamela and Chadli. We sold them for a profit which led to the signings that took us to consistent top 4 finishes.
Yea its not the end of the world how we spent it but I'm optimistic the targets we are linked with currently are a really good fit so any money we do spend should have a better hit rate than the famous 7.

Because you are suggesting he would hold any power in that situation to simply do as he pleases and might therefore see it as a reasonable plan.

instead, it’s so conditional upon other parties doing what would be quite surprising things as to be implausible in the extreme.
Disagree totally, but not getting into a back and forth on it.

This is a very frustrating thread. A top quality CB and I’d say we have the best squad we’ve had in ages. Everyone is very pessimistic for the year ahead but I’m confident. Particularly with no Europe. Big clubs wouldn’t sell Kane unless they wanted to - which we don’t.

I have a pressing problem if/when he goes , I convinced my daughter to name my grandson Kane. He is coming up to six and already eying up Man City saying how great they play.

I got my kids into spurs and regret it by the day. Was very hard explaining why we lost so much last year.

Partly this but also what does Harry want to do?

I can’t question his application or commitment but does he want to go now? Will he actually choose Bayern? Depending on where he is on this should seriously dictate what we do about this interest.

Makes no difference what I think but personally I’d rather get money for him and sell him abroad. Unless we get an extension (with some release clauses) and 25/30 goals from him this season then I think we’ll have made the wrong call in keeping him. Could be out of our hands either way if he wants to run his contract down
The way I see it Kane will not sign an extension now. We could sell him abroad to control where he goes but will miss him this season. If we keep him we get the small chance he signs a contract versus whether he leaves for another PL club next year. It's a gamble either way but I'll take another season of him here over anything else.

My old man died 20 odd years ago. The fact I got to watch and celebrate us winning the FA cup and the uefa cup with him are 2 of the biggest and best memories of him I have. Football is more than just winning and losing, and one day they'll understand this.

💯 Spurs is in the blood for us. My mum's side are all from Hackney and Shoreditch way. My nan got us all into football, massive Greaves fan and she used to get us all watching the Hoddle videos in the 80s.

I love taking the kids to games and passing on the tradition. This was the main reason I thought my Mrs when he was trying to be a Liverpool fan. Spurs is something we will always have together!

Rip to your old man and 👍 to the 81 winning team, year of my birth!

My father supported Tottenham to spite his Dad, who was an Arsenal fan. I can't see myself supporting another team; I'll take all the ups and downs and treasure the special moments. I know football is ultimately about winning silverware, but there is so much that goes along with it. You can't buy that feeling.

Totally agree. My dad got me into Spurs and the first time one of us ever went to a game without the other was the '91 FA Cup final. He got invited by a work client so couldn't get me a ticket. But thinking it would only be a a few years before we got there again, he promised to take me the next one. Cue a 33 year wait. Can't tell you how much I've milked that over the decades.

This sounds a lot like "We tried, but Kane really wasn't interested, so we've had to take the best decision on behalf of the club..."

Makes sense to try and suss his intention this window while there’s the potential of a move abroad.

PSG are suggesting they will sell Mbappe this summer, if he won't sign a new deal...

(Which, ironically could change the landscape a little bit for Kane)

The aggregators love to leave out that signing a new contract is apparently the least likely option :ROFLMAO:

Absolutely.

I think you have to give him a chance to sign a new deal, and commit to the club. If he says no, that is a pretty clear indication he will leave next summer. I am sure there are some that suggest Kane could be persuaded during the season - but I am not one of those people.

I think if he doesn’t sign an extension with some get out terms, then he doesn’t sign a new deal to be honest.

Agree with some of your logic though, if we actually get going this season and get back into the CL, it’s our best shot at keeping him in any capacity. Just too many ifs and buts for me now though.
