I'm not sure how much the PL record means to him. I would think it should mean a lot but if he's even considering going abroad then maybe it doesn't. It could be that being Spurs and England all time top scorer is enough for him on a personal level. Maybe he just wants titles now. I think the CL and a League title are in his mind. That could be why he considers Bayern Munich because they're one of the best bets for the CL. I do find it strange though as would think the PL and FA Cup are 2 he would really love to win as well. I can't see him join Chelsea either because I think he knows how much that will piss fans off. Honestly if he's on a free next year I see no way City would pass on him. Even just to stop their competitors getting him. I have to say I'm surprised Real Madrid went quiet though. He would be the perfect replacement for Benzema and you could see him linking well with Bellingham as he does with England.

Another week of the same chat. Can see this thread getting to 4000 pages before we know

We might all be having the same chats for the next nine or ten months. At least in respect of whether he will leave or not, where he will go to etc.

Personally think this is now PR management.
firstly - I hope I’m wrong, however work with the head and not the heart.
Its plainly obvious levy works as a business, first and foremost. That much is not up for debate.
So - from a business decision I am convinced there is or has been a huge contract on offer (as I’m sure the club don’t want to lose kane) with the caveat that either he signs or we look to sell. I cannot see levy passes on the opportunity to bank £100m over losing him for nothing in 12 months. It would be totally opposite to his working MO.

on the assumption Kane isn’t committing (certainly not yet) levy is open to ‘discussions’ and achieving the value he feels is right.
From a PR point of view this is very very similar to Bale - starts with he’s not for sale, starts moving towards an acceptable price - next up will be potential replacements - that’s the next play. Then there will be a couple more signings - then I think he’s sold. Again - compare to when there was City talk - it’s a very very different narrative.

Secondly - let’s listen to Anges latest press when asked about Kane. EVERY answer goes back to - it’s about the collective and not the individual - he actually answers very well - but read between the lines and the answer is a little more poignant in my opinion.

we absolutely berate levy for running us like a business first and football second - then expect him to act from a football perspective with Kane over business - I don’t see it myself - I hope I’m wrong - but I think he’s gone this summer
If Kane does not want to pen a new contract we should sell him this window, imho.

Imo he's open to everything and has decided nothing. That's why everyone thinks he favours the deal they have put on the table.
Thanks as always. You and all the ITK's efforts are helpful in helping us understand the music in all of the cacophony. That makes perfect sense. You would think that If his real goal is to win trophies and set the scoring record, then winning with Tottenham would Be the preferred route from a professional and personal perspective.

He likely gives Spurs more benefit of doubt than many "fans" have. Spurs have shown some ambition with 2 of their last 3 coaching appointments and how ruthlessly they were let go even if their player selection has been, well, less than stellar. The blunders were strategic but misguided efforts that did show some level of ambition.

Big Ange has likely impressed and if so, there is value in sticking around short term as long as the new contract has a reasonable January out clause.

Honestly, what difference does it make, though? Everyone and their dog knows they want to buy Kane. It's not like this is the first Kane's heard of it - Levy had a meeting with Bayern last week.
Agree... but it's just the way they behave. With no respect... they've acted the same way hundreds of times through the years towards other Bundesliga clubs and their star players... that's why I really hope Levy doesn't budge and Harry gets tired of Bayern's media games.

Agree and then go for Vlahovic and also go for his countryman cb Strahinja Pavlovic. Left footed cb, 194cm, pretty quick, got a good left foot and likes to carry the ball forward. And a rock in defence.

Yes, but a public show of interest can also lead to a public show of strength, or pissing contest if you will.
Its not beyond the realms of believability that Levy, who may have considered 100m, sees all in the media and digs his heels in for 110m and heavily loaded in upfront payments.

It could also piss Kane off, who thought he was having a private conversation which was leaked and that in turn creates shit for him (or has the potential to)

Hence why Wes Brown is so much more revered than Alan Shearer.
You’re right obviously but I just don’t see it as likely. Haaland won’t stay and if Kane sees out his career in the prem he smashes it. I can see him still banging them in when he’s 37 if he stays fit.
Same I think that if he breaks it, no one will get close for a long time - but I just think at 29 he wants a few medals in the bank then he can do a couple seasons chasing down the record.

With them being so public we should close the door on Bayern at any price tbh. If we roll over now it just sets a president in future. Pretty remarkable really given we're in the top 10 richest clubs and the richest league in the world. Real Madrid never acted like this with Bale.

Madrid never needed to, they knew Bale wanted them and only them.

Bayern must be fully aware the only way they get him is this summer, if he has a pick on any club on Earth they are a bit further down the queue.

All seems to me they were hoping Kane would kick up more of a stink than he has, so they are trying to do it on his behalf. Wouldn’t be shocked if he personally is getting really annoyed at this. Seems he’s learnt from the City thing a few years ago.

Plus he is in no rush. He knows he’s leaving this summer or next, where he will have thrice as many options
