Bayern and their minions in the press really going about this in the right way to make Levy just turn around at tell them to go f themselves.
That is exactly the way to do it. Every passing press conference and interview makes life uncomfortable for the new manager and the club as regardless of what they say in public, it is a massive distraction to the rebuild and preparation for the new season. Levy needs to set a deadline to bring this to a head asap and that will mean compromise on the financial side ie either come out and say we are not selling this summer and he will see out the final year or agree a deal with Bayern (likely for less than he'd ideally like) asap to force Kane's hand. This back and forth dance with the constant press pantomime hurts Spurs more than any other party in this affair.

Would imagine Mbappe throws a spanner in the works, given he’s a bigger name, younger, and PSG seem to want him out.
Can’t see him wanting to go to Bayern. The prevailing noise is he’s agreed to go to Real Madrid next summer for nothing. If he goes anywhere this summer, it’s there.

If Mbappe joins Madrid this summer then I could see Madrid going for Kane on a free next year. That could be a better option for Kane than Bayern this year. That is if City keep hold of Haaland although I think Barca come for one of them too next year. So could see Barca and Madrid as an option next year.

Hasn't it already been said he doesn't want to go to PSG?

Levy hates to feel like he's getting played. He won't appreciate these tactics at all. No way that this pushes Levy to compromise. If anything it will make him add more to the value needed. Bayern, just like City before, need to put up or shut up. So far neither side has shown any real firm intent to sign him. If you're Kane surely you notice this. They don't really want him. They're interested if they can get a deal, but that's it.

It's pretty much shit or get off the pot time for Kane and/or club after today's latest episode. Harry has to realize that the lack of resolution is now affecting the club publicly and privately and it's only going to increase with each passing day. The questions to players and Ange are going to keep the focus on the circus, not what the club is attempting to do or the progress being made which really needs to be the message for the fans. It is time for Harry or Daniel or both to make statements. this is hurting the team now.

Not for the club or Kane. For Bayern.

This is all on them. If they really want him, make a proper offer. It's pretty simple.

On top of the fee Spurs want, Bayern are going to splash out the kind of wages to match what Kane would receive in less than a year plus a massive signing bonus he can get. Wage offers far higher than Bayern could offer. They are going to match that are they? or are they expecting Kane to just wave that kind of massive windfall he would receive for one years football.

This, all day long, no use random members of their staff and media saying/acting in the manner they are! Make a serious offer, or bugger off! We're not a BM feeder club, we won't be bullied in to rolling over!

Kane Mbappe swap deal. Both in Last year of contract and both worth 100M because of that. PSG desperate to get rid and would almost certainly accept 100M due to the circumstances. So they should swap, we get possibly the best player in the world for a season before we sell him to Madrid for 150M the following season. And Kane comes back to Spurs after winning several trophies in his season at PSG because he realises their fan base are amongst the worst in world football and he only costs 60M because of his age.

Win win.

Re this need to win a trophy, you ain’t winning anything if your team mates aren’t good enough but is it really that fulfilling if you’re winning surefire trophies every year. In fact it’s a failure if they don’t win.
Surely it’s much more fulfilling to win something when your team aren’t odds on or an individual trophy like the golden boot or being the leading goal score of all time.
I always think this. If he goes to Bayern and wins the league is that really going to elevate him to another level in terms of how everyone looks at him?!

Don’t understand why people think its a good idea for us to be stubborn with Bayern, let him run down his contract and join Chelsea/City/Utd next season with a huge signing on fee.

We’re not in the driving seat here, we’re losing Kane either way, any money we get now is a bonus - Levy will recognise this.

We’ve had Kane at his peak with 3 of the best managers in the game, its not worked out, it’s time to move on and rebuild.

Ok, so just let Bayern dictate the whole thing?

that part is on them but stopping the shitshow is on DL and HK. I'm not a fan of being dependent upon someone else to do something for me to get the result i'm seeking. DL needs to set a deadline and it needs to be sooner, much sooner rather than later. Bayern, we will turn off the fax machine at 9 AM on Monday. Harry, if he is willing to stay at least until January could also come out with a statement. The lack of a statement may be an indication of his willingness to leave now or could it be to keep pressure on the club to continue the upgrades needed.

You either get played by Bayern or played by Kane, if you opt for Kane then you’re losing 80 mill plus whatever we’re paying him in wages and bonuses for the next year.

Ange has been given a 5 year contract to rebuild, why delay it.

Managers who didn't figure out how to get the most out of a team with Kane at his peak while dealing with the Board and all the garbage that entails.

I think by all accounts, had Man City matched the alleged asking price of 150m, we may well have him let him go.

But it's still possible that Kane felt that Levy was being too demanding. I'm sure I remember Bale and Modric being frustrated about Levy's way of doing business when they wanted to leave. So the relationship between Levy and Kane might have been damaged, even if Kane accepts that Man City never met Levy's asking price.

Kane probably learned something from the experience, too, making it even less likely he would sign a new contract.
As I recall Bale's agent publicly thanked Daniel Levy for keeping his word and Modric publicly said he wanted to go to Chelsea out of the blue, tapping up at its most blatant and Levy would have none of it but knowing he wanted out set up the Real Madrid deal, the right deal for Modric.
Honestly don't think for a moment Levy deserves any flack for those deals.
I do believe that Man City kerfuffle is when Kane decided to sign no more contracts for us though.

I actually think we’d be better without him. The caveat being I probably think that out of forced acceptance but the whole saga feels like a British mannered version of Ronaldo/Man Utd.

He clearly thinks, and has thought since at least the City shambles, that he is better than to play for Tottenham. That he deserves better. I just can’t see how that is good for the squad morale. Especially when he holds the vice/co captain role. Which he isn’t very good at. He’s shown time and again for England and Spurs that he can’t grab his players by the scruff of the neck and get them back into games. I might be wrong, but I’m those games (for Spurs at least) he doesn’t attribute our failure with his failure. He feels Spurs have failed him not that he has had an active role in that failure to win trophies. If he stays, he will have to be captain, I think he will be a poor captain because he is not a good leader. I think that is likely to stunt our progress.

I think now with Lloris gone, it might be a good time to get a complete new player leadership in the squad along with the new manager. A lot of people have complained that they don’t want a manager that thinks they are better than the club, but are happy to have a player that thinks he is?
