It's funny though... Kane has had chances to win something... both with Spurs and England... for all his goals, assists and big moments... he's been part of that failure to win something in his carrer so far... he's not always turned up when needed. He's also made mistakes at crucial times. He's also had long periods with injuries.

So... yes, he deserves better because he's a great striker and role model. But we've always looked after him and treated him as one of our own.

He should remember that before deciding on the next step. And it's not impossible to challenge for something again under Ange... to me it's all about positivity, attitude and togetherness on and off the pitch. It's not only about quality.

We need Kane to make a decision and say/do something... we don't have to do it for him...
He has but he wasn’t fit in the big one, the champions league final in my opinion.

Bale's departure all those years ago has prepared me for the outcome if it happens:LOL:

I think Shearer's record is safe for now if he goes abroad, don't see him coming back in a few years and putting up the numbers he gets now.
Yes I think that’s true, not impossible but unlikely. If he wanted that record I think he would have to make inroads into it now while of an age where the goals are still flowing.

Would you accept Kane going if it meant

2 centrebacks, midfielder, winger and a striker coming in?
Depends if the money is spent well, we have a history of being poor at times with big money signings. I hope that changes but i’m still somewhat nervous when the shadow of Levy seems to hang all over footballing decisions.

Be weird to me if he forgoes the all time PL record to piddle around in the Bundesliga or Ligue 1 for the sake of a few trophies. And it’s also weird to me that his agent, clown that he is, is apparently engineering a move now rather than maximising his clients earning potential by opting to see his deal through and have his pick next summer with clubs falling over themselves to offer him obscene wages and signing on fees

He might see trophies as being more important though. Everyone has a different mindset but traditionally, trophies have generally been seen as the pinnacle of sporting achievement. From our perspective as Spurs fans, yes we'd like him to see the PL record as being the most important thing to him but that's because it gives us the best chance of holding onto him.

Yeah, sad as that is to think about. He could have been our Totti, but unlike Roma we failed to win anything. Maybe if we'd won the league back in 2016, or the CL of course.

Still think he deserves a statue tbf.
Assume that would be after the statue for our actual all-time greatest striker?

Perhaps he doesn’t think he will manage to bag the goals to get the record, which I reckon would take him 3 seasons, perhaps he has doubts about his fitness to last that long. Maybe better to miss out completely rather than fall just short.

Maybe Kane wants us to get a fee for him because we're his club?

Everyone has a price. It’s quite fun to sit back and watch what people will sell their soul for. Henderson was a classic example.
Call me naive - but I don't think Kane is doing this for the money. He would miss out on the PL record, and CL if he left for Saudi.

He is not going to Saudi - no matter how much money they offer. He does not need the money, and I don't think he measures himself by his bank account.

There’s allegedly another sit-down planned according to a Twitter linked pages back. If not true the broader point still stands.

I like to image every time levy shows up in a Kane home kit. Orders the most expensive thing on the menu. F’s off to the loo and doesn’t return.

It's not only about that one final... to be fair he didn't get us to that final alone either, if you want to go there :)

It was a team effort... that's what I'm hoping he will realize regarding Ange.
That spirit will come back again.

He’s not doing it for the money if he goes to Bayern, that’s for sure. If Saudi offered him similar to what Mbappe is supposedly being offered I think he’d have no real choice but to accept. Absolutely obscene.

I think it comes down to a guaranteed chance to spend the next and what will be the last 4 or 5 years of his career getting Champs League football.

if Levy aint for selling domestically, then Bayern aren’t a bad bet. Nailed on CL - and a good chance competing to win it. Thats his motivation right there.

Money isn't a motivation for him, I'm sure the Kane household doesn't go short. And has enough to keep several generations going.

He can’t hang about another year hoping we qualify, then year after that miss out again. With us there is no certainty or consistency. He’s too good a player not to be playing on that stage.

i’ve previously said and hoped him not signing is a ruse to get Levy to pull his finger out and be ambitious. But lets be fair, that ain't ever going to happen. So go he realises he must…..
