Didn't you compare the rest of our squad to the Leicester squad that got relegated?

You have a very low opinion of our squad, to the point that it's unreasonable.
I did. I also said I don’t think we’d be as bad as them, and I specifically said we wouldn’t be relegated. But at the start of last season Leicester were fancied to be in and around the European places. Mid table but maybe scraping Europa or conference league. That’s the best we can hope for now.

We are miles behind top four, and sadly behind those who’d be competing for sixth seventh and eighth too. This is a transition year, and it just got a damn site more transitiony.

We’re changing to a hyper attacking system and have just removed our one reliable goal scorer.

Every time I've thought about the prospect of Harry leaving over the past few seasons I've thought of this post from the saga with City 2 years ago when there was bitterness about him going.
I'll never forget you Henry
It made me absolutely piss myself at the time but it's different now. I'm genuinely saddened that he's leaving us but also genuinely optimistic and excited about what may rise from the ashes.

Don’t blame him for leaving, this is all on Levy for me.

Wasted a once in a lifetime homegrown talent. Unforgivable.

Did he? He hired multiple win now managers and gave them lots of money; they just hugely underwhelmed. Lemme put it this way - Levy built teams that were good enough to beat Norwich, Zagreb, Middlesbrough and Sheffield United.

That's what will happen. It's so obvious. He is irreplaceable. It is different from Bale etc. in so many ways. I'd go get Toney now irrespective of his ban. He can play again from January, which isnt that far away and Richy/Son is good enough until then.

A sad day in the history of the club.
I disagree with every single sentence in that post. I don’t think we need to be so despondent

Bayern in for… 😅🥹😭

Interesting in some regards that we were supposedly close to getting Tuchel as manager, he is then “poached” by Bayern. Tuchel then taps up Kane.

Probably all just coincidence, but Bayern have certainly been a niggling thorn in our plans recently.
And when we needed them to not bottle a home Champions league final

Have to say I loved Harry Kane as a player. Will be a huge loss to the Club but if he wasn’t going to sign a new contract then at least he didn’t leave us for another English Club. All the best Harry.

As Herc alluded to. A New era for the Club has begun.

We won’t get another striker as clinical: then again, neither will anyone else unless they’ve got Haaland.

This is a great point tbh, I think we’ll be okay, goal scoring wise.

The teams above us, bar City, wont have 20 goal strikers either.

Who knows, if we replace him with someone who is quicker, and spends more time in the box, instead of midfield, we might win more games. Most of the trophies and titles won in the last 10 years, didn't involve strikers like Harry Kane.

Were leicester fancied for Europe. I thought they were dark horses for relegation. They've been selling players and weakening for years.

In parallel, we've severely lacked a creative midfield. Conte and Jose set us up to counter and rely on Kane and son.

We've signed the 3rd most creative midfielder in the league for the Last 3 years. Throw in an under used bissouma, lo celso and ndombele in, and suddenly we have a lot more creativity.

Also, Richi has never played as a striker, so we should give him a chance. Son will be injury free, and will be much better now that he isn't paying in pain.

Another CB and striker, and I think we have a lot of positive options.

Some people will try and spin this in a positive way. But it’s really not that much money in todays market, and I think this is a massive step backwards for the club.

Some people don’t remember what it was like not having a top striker at the club. Until Kane came along we hadn’t had a regular 20 goal a year striker at the club for donkeys years. Not having a reliable goal scorer up front can make teams very inconsistent. It’s why Strikers always go for the top money and earn the top wages. We will struggle to attract a replacement that will reliably replace those goals.

It’s all good and well thinking an attacking team will make up for that, but it doesn’t. I know from experience that it didn’t under Jol, and it didn’t under Redknapp. Neither manager had a truly reliable goalscorer, and neither were able to have the team consistently performing at the top of the league. That’s despite having some truly brilliant attacking talent from midfield that often chipped in with goals. That’s never enough.

He was leaving next year regardless, so better get this “massive step backwards” in now with a record amount of money (for us) and of course it helps, this whole idea of £100 million being nothing is ridiculous. The club will certainly be able to offer better to contracts to players and spend a little more freely with that kind of injection.

Losing Lloris and Kane in the same window will both be hugely detrimental to the leadership but also gives us a chance of a fresh start. We simply have to give Ange time.
Plus Hojbjerg. If there's a time for Kane to leave, now is the time IMHO. Let these so-called leaders all leave and we can have a true and proper rebuild of leadership. Wouldn't mind if Dier has takers and leave as well. It has to happen and we might as well make it a clean break from this group. They could be the ones holding us back all along lol.

With Hojberg prob off and we shift a few more we could certainly have an extra 150M minimum this summer

Will be sad to see him go but being honest I’m not too bothered. It’s no as if we’ve won anything, it’s just been cool seeing him score a lot.

For me I was more depressed when we sold Bale, Kane has given us a lot of good moments but I’m more keen on seeing how we look without him.

We will win a trophy next season after all this, it’s the spurs way.
Quote me, I dare you.
