Whether it’s now or next summer we’re losing the best striker in the world. The idea of a new contract is a pipe dream and simply ain’t going to happen in my opinion. I can’t handle seeing him play for another PL side on a free so I’m still sticking with him going to Bayern now being more palatable.
Separate to this god knows how many goals Kane would’ve gotten under Ange instead of the last 4 years of shite football. He might’ve already broken Shearers record the amount of goalscoring chances he’d have had.

He's got to at least be thinking - I could score a shit load of goals in this team this season... come on Harry do the right thing.

Personally think we may be in for a rude awakening if we think we can lose Kane, not sufficiently compensate as well as we can and get by because "we'll create loads, Richarlison will score 15, Son will score 10 and Kulusevski will score 10".

I don't care how well he is playing in this game. We simply can't afford to throw that much money away and then watch him go on a free to United or Chelsea next season. We can only afford to keep him if he truly is considering signing a new contract. Also we haven't heard any changes from ITK info yet on this.

Bild exclusive: Bayern have given Tottenham until midnight to accept their offer for Dane Scarlett.

Even if he was going, and the signs from the ITK are he will, I doubt it was an easy decision with all of the history and sentiment attached. It would be pretty surreal to go out for the last time.

Who knows though? 🤷

I’ve been vocal in wanting him to stay. The money doesn’t directly impact me as a fan, and I’d rather a year watching the best player in a generation play for one more season.

£100m is small fry these days. We might get acquired this year by a massive PE company and have all the cash we need moving forward….

If he is off, I'm not particularly happy about him playing 80 minutes so close to the start of the season. If the club wanted him to have a send off, bring him on for the last 20.
That said, he shows how irreplaceable he is for us right now. World class!

You are not wrong (despite all the disagrees) - but, you do have to factor in that a good season could easily lead to Kane signing a new deal next summer.

So, its not a gamble I would take - but its not an unreasonable position to take for Spurs/Levy.

I think he does that after every home game tbf

Also, you you could spin it it would be more significant if we WASN'T on his own, would be quite cold for Son et al. to just ignore him in that scenario - you'd think they would be walking round with him.

Just means it's all bollocks, and Dan Kilpatrick still isn't 100% sure enough to put it in print either. Which is slightly interesting, at least, I guess.

I can’t see the deal being very close given the time he played today. I just can’t see Spurs, Kane and Bayern all being happy with him playing that many min and risking injury. Even if Bayern were happy with it would Levy want to risk it? And what about Kane himself? And would Ange want to give so much time to a player who won’t even be here next week?

It’s all guesswork and maybe everyone at the club including Harry himself were happy to overlook the above in favour of giving Harry a good send off. I would be a little bit surprised if this were the case though.

Can't help thinking that's the club sending a message that nothing is finalized. As you say, 20 minutes would have done it, but giving him that long says differently. He could pick up a knock and scupper the deal and also we could be giving the minutes to someone who's going to be playing for us this year. Bit strange really.
