Ange Postecoglou irritated by Bayern Munich's public pursuit of Harry Kane

Kane scored four goals in a pre-season friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk as speculation continues about his future

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has questioned the manner of Bayern Munich’s public pursuit of Harry Kane after the striker scored four times in a pre-season game on Sunday.

As uncertainty about Kane’s future in North London continues to dominate the summer transfer window, Postecoglu was asked about the approaches of the German side, who put a deadline last Friday night for Tottenham to accept their latest offer.

“That’s up to Bayern to decide,” said Postecoglu, who was keen to point out the 30-year-old still has a year left on his contract. “If that’s the way they want to conduct things, it’s not up to me to judge that. It doesn’t affect me.

“I think what is factual right now is that he is a contracted player of our football club. I certainly wouldn’t talk about contracted players at other football clubs but I’m not at Bayern mate so they can go the way they want.”

From Bild/SportBild - Tobi Altschäffl

"Although Daniel Levy did not react to the deadline for the current offer, both parties are still in good contact. Further steps will be discussed at the meeting of the sports committee on Monday morning."

This alleged meeting and deadlines will keep going until 2065 at this rate.

Seems only German journos and SC ITK have said this is a done deal. He’s gone. The British media have been a smidge more circumspect.

It’s all rather odd.

I‘m a dreamer and hope those that believe he is off might be wrong and that he will stay. Don’t care about the potential of losing him for free. I am getting older and have seen many generations of players come and go. But none like Harry. Gladly will embrace having him for one more year, regardless of whether he leaves for free or not.

Man, life is way too short not to revel in the special moments of the present. As they are fleeting. Fuck the future. Just enjoy the exquisite urgency of now.

I think the ITK has been hedging their bets a little - most of the information seems to be that Bayern have made an acceptable bid, and that Kane is willing to go to Bayern - so all signs point to him leaving - while at the same time, never saying that Levy has accepted Bayern's bid.
I think the phrasing was ‘he’d be crazy to turn it down’ and I still hope that he is a crazy as can be

I love Ange.

Can’t confirm an article from Germany about an agreement (in principle) between Bayern & Tottenham about #Kane.
There was no contact with Levy this weekend. And no secret call. Bayern is still waiting for a response.
Poker is ongoing as there was never a deadline. There was only the wish of an answer this weekend.

That a breakthrough was made between Levy and Bayern over the weekend regarding Harry Kane is not correct. Talks continue.

I am still convinced Harry is going and today's show was a perfect way to say goodbye.
I am also aware that he was made captain for today's game but only for today's game.

I’ve said it a thousand times and I’ll say it again. Itk is interesting because it tells you something about how the club works. It might tell you a deal is done when the medical is booked. But like every other transfer Kane isn’t ‘gone’ until it’s on the club website. Everyone from levy down could expect a deal to happen but it doesn’t mean it will

It feels like most of these stories, leaks whatever are from the German side and almost nothing from our side. It does somewhat feel like Bayern are doing everything possible to get a deal through that’s as close to what they want as possible. I don’t think that will work with us though, maybe it does in Germany where they are the biggest fish in that league.

The desperation is so obvious...

The backlash will be even worse for Levy and Co if we sell him on the back of bagging 4 in 80 minutes. If they was unsure...today hopefully has made their mind up and he's staying.

On top of that...Richarlison is always injured and that has to be a massive concern. So Kane for me is going to stay. That's my final answer ... until the morning. COYS

I am sure that Tuchel is sending clips of today's performance to every Bayern board member to remind them of what Kane can do - and how that would help Bayern achieve their goals.

Levy, by staying silent all weekend, probably just caused Bayern to bump their bid by £10-15M...

Got to love the German media and stuff being leaked from Bayern.

Friday - this is our final offer, deadline tonight or we move on.

No answer from Tottenham.

Sunday - Deadline? What deadline, we never said that.

Don’t think it matters. Every man and his dog, know how good Kane is.
