If Bayern stumped up what we asked for then I'm going with us failing to get deals lined up and therefore changed our mind about selling.

Very plausible that a few calls were made to our top replacement targets and the prices given were far too high to make the Kane fee work or players were simply not interested in coming to a team without european football.

Do you not think we'd take more than 3 days to line up deals if that was the case?

Plus surely we'd have put out the feelers a while ago given this saga has been so public.

Feels premature to be celebrating, if Levy agreed a fee on Friday, changed his mind over the weekend, he can just as easily change his mind back again and sell him.

Right up until the window officially closes, I won't believe he won't be tempted to cash in. If he does, that's what he'll always be remembered for, not the stadium, the man who sold our best player because he couldn't or wouldn't match his ambition.

This is the more likely scenario but as an optimist I’m clinging to the chance that Kane said ‘love what Ange is doing, let’s give it a go’. Problem is he has very little incentive to sign a new contract unless we do a very creative sweetheart deal that stretches into retirement but with reasonable release fees. Anything less and he may as well keep his optionality - any pay rise he gets for one year would be less than he could command as a signing bonus next year anyway.
I’d offer him a 10 year deal that pays him in a club role if he retires before that, with release clauses of say £50m in the next two summers

No idea. Maybe Bayern wanted to announce it sooner than we wanted and sooner than we needed to line up signings.

Hmm, England captain playing for Spurs signs a boot deal with a new to the market manufacturers??
I’ve seen it all before.
I went as a kid to queue up for hours on Oxford street to get his autograph… although the poster was him in a Barca shirt with Quasar (sp) boots, so may have even been pre-spurs.

Or maybe more positive murmurings from HK after seeing how we intend to play under Ange.

How we will play, the manager seems to have impressed q lot of them and pushing them to play more attacking (see second half of last game) and the fans constant singing of he is one of our own!

Though it was amusing when that was sung for Scarlett also

One of you motherfreekers better remind me to put him in my fantasy team on Thursday afternoon if he is still here.

don't want to do it just yet to avoid the bock.

Wait and do it if he is still with us after 1 September. I've a bad feeling this isnt over just yet.

Whoever is playing policeman with ITK’s on this. Deal was agreed Friday. Not going to expand why we are where we are at. We know the reasons for the about turn. Certainly not sharing that here.
If you say so … agreed it seemed that deal was agreed on Friday

I'm just not getting my hopes up for Harry staying with us. It would be great if he did though.

I'm still worried these reports are all a smokescreen to allow us to get our business done. Praying I'm wrong as I would love to see a full season of Harry under Ange.

And if Harry stays and go on free next season he will be remembered for losing 100 million worth player to Chelsea, Man U or even Arsenal, simply damned if he does damned if he doesn’t
