Levy the ace businessman: it’s his job to afford it.

If the 8th or 9th richest club in the world can’t afford it, football as a sport is beyond repair.

It probably is anyway. But that’s another subject.
Of course we can afford it, but it is not necessery what Kane or the board want. If Kane gives a strong indication he might renew his contract before January 1, then the club can afford to keep him, even if Kane then decides to leave on a free. The club needs to be smart about it though!

No Kane shirt available for auction.

Although not sure anything could be read into this as Son's shirt is available but he is seen to give it away at the end of the match to the girl he hit in the face with his wayward finishing in the warm-up
I noticed this too. Was definitely up for auction during the game though as I had a look to see how much it was going for.
Could be keeping it knowing it’s potentially his last game was my thought but hope I’m wrong!

That is my point.

But no one knows what Kane, Levy or the board really wants.

It’s all speculation, some better and some less well informed, but speculation nevertheless.

It’s still possible that the parties themselves don’t yet know what their next move will be, as it’s all contingent to varying degrees on what others do, and no one really wants to make the definitive move, including BM who are not really being honest about their best final offer.

I've been thinking about this a little bit. When we was riding high, I feared selling our best players and then realised that upon reflection, selling Eriksen when Madrid were knocking or selling Dier when United were interested, would have possibly given us the capability to essentially prune the plant to encourage growth. So I decided that I was open to selling our best players.

With this Kane one I've contradicted myself a bit I think and I've been trying to work out why and I think it comes down to the belief in the idea that, he actually wants to truly succeed with us and my belief that we're on the verge of a significant turn around that's going to be sharply faster than any of us would have predicted. The reason for this belief is because it is when you let go of trying to force thing's that all your efforts begin to actually become worthwhile and that now we've finally decided to stop trying to force thing's with managers like Jose/Conte, that will finally actually become what we hoped.

So admittedly my beliefs may be painting my judgement but I feel like if the turnaround happens as quickly as I anticipate then Kane will finally achieve what he hoped with us and that he'll end up staying. However I can't ignore my previously logic of pruning the plant being better overall and so I think it comes down to understanding; what would we be doing with the money should we sell Kane and I think I understand where I'm getting twisted now, it is that the signings we could potentially make, don't seem out of reach even by keeping Kane. With Kane, I don't see how we still can't add Orban and Laporte along with Veliz and VDV. If we sell Kane, I don't see what we could really do additionally that would be of any value to go along with those signings.

I know this post in a mess but I just don't see how those additions are out of reach without the Kane money and I don't see the benefit of adding anything else should we sell Kane. Simply put, I think Kane is a truly unique component in relation to where we're at and I can't see the cost of Orban and Laporte being something that is going to cripple the club should we keep him. If we sell Kane we'd probably be worse of if we signed anybody else additionally thereafter but those pieces fit with him here.

My neck hurts from all this back and forth!

They just don’t appear to value him at 100m and possibly already think they have offered more than he is worth to them.

they are also possibly wary of smashing their own transfer free given they haven’t had the greatest value out of Hernandez as their current record signing.

My assumption with the back and forth is that, the ITK's we heard it from that bid's were accepted are probably really close to the situation but the media is typically a bit delayed (due to the purpose of yielding more narrative, more need to continue watching and more revenue)

So I wouldn't be surprised if what we're hearing from media now is actually news from before the weekend's ITK and now what they shared is going to slowly start taking shape.

I hope I'm wrong though and it is fresh twists and he stays.

It at least seems we are trying to squeeze every last drop from Bayern while getting our deals ready on the other side. Lots of money + good deals doesn’t replace Kane but it does soften the blow and if we don’t have good deals on the other side we keep Kane for one more season.

worst thing is to end up like West Ham, get all that money for Rice and have no good targets to hit.

But who's to say we wouldn't sack our manager four days before the final.

Levy will need to completely step aside and focus on just generating money for the club (which he has successfully done) in order for us to progress as a club.

I would go as far to say the board needs a shuffle too.

Kane has been here long enough to know that our problems is not with the players or managers as we've constantly made changes there.

Actually refreshing to hear a reporter talking positively about the Kane situation rather than trying to push the case for the transfer to Bayern
I'm really not bothered if they are positive or negative. What bothers me, is when they' have no concrete info and they're just talking shit.

I don't want to go too "gushy" but I do think Kane represents more than just our best player. I was at the game with my kids on Sunday and seeing the amount of people queue to get photos of the mural shows what he means to the fans and the club.

Selling Eriksen to Madrid, or Dier to Utd is similar to selling Son now or Lloris a few years back but Harry is a whole different level. If he stays he is guaranteed a statue, how many players can you say that about?
