Selling our best ever player 2 days before the season, as a consequence of 4 years of incompetence and penny pinching rebuilds is peak Levy.

Nothing has changed since Berbatov etc.

All those windows hanging onto deadwood for an extra few million that never arrives, all the hiring managers and foisting spreadsheet club signings that don't fit, his siding with disgruntles "assets" in the canteen against managers...

His failed and intransigent leadership has lead us to this point.

I get the pragmatic arguments for selling Kane now, but that we have reached this position is inexcusable from Levy.

Who thinks we’re going to spend the money well?
Keep your hands up if we spend it well before before the first game of the season?
(Maybe we already have!)

We’ll be lucky if any Kane replacement is up to speed by Christmas never mind missing the first few weeks of the season.

Ridiculous move

Tottenham Hotspur continues to write the books on self destruction.

If this is true then I think DL has played it quite well - got a good fee and made it clear that the decision to stay or otherwise is now Kane's.

Kane is now the one who has three choices... leave the club now, leave the club in a year and cost us 100m or commit.
Played it quite well?

The season starts tomorrow?!?

Ok, after the initial shock announcement. From a logical point of view, and from Harry’s. This is not an easy decision so close to the start of the seasons. Let’s see.

“Sources in Germany” is a very important aspect to this ‘breaking’ news

Bayern are clearly leaning on Harry, we’ve all know they were close on the financials a week or so back

Definitely still feels a bit weird and not quite what it seems

Had to happen sooner or later. All things considered, I would far sooner have money in the bank and Harry out of the PL versus the alternative. Still very surprised he's not sticking around for Shearer's record though.

The Premier League literally starts tomorrow.

Some people think this is a good decision and not negligence?

Got to be joking.

I can't understand how anybody can have a differing opinion than this is an absolute clusterfuck. And it being completely negligent regarding getting the football club in the best position for the season ahead.

So basically when it seemed Kane would stay Levy spent all night tossing and turning like Ebineezer Scrooge thinking about all that money and then panicked and accepted

Project Kane = 3 new players? Here we go!
Although slightly confused how if it’s right that the club did accept an offer last weekend and have any kind of confidence it will be completed, why did the Schuurs rumours hit big yesterday. Surely if we have big money, we should be going for a bigger target.
maybe they aren’t so confident Kane goes then?
basically, it all just seems a mess. As usual.

People will have differing opinions on this - and that's fine. There isn't a "right" way to feel.

Yeah. There's a lot of anger in this thread. People have different opinions about what is right and best for the club; people being angry about other fans' opinions is weird.

As some have mentioned above, final decision seems to be down to Kane, I may be wearing extremely rose-tinted spectacles but I'm not sure it's a done deal.

Unless a English source confirms, deal is not done yet.
This can swing either way still

Regardless, we should go get Orban IMO

Prefer this scenario to him going to Manchester for nothing next year. But the timing is horrid.

Hopefully Richy bags a goal or 2 on Sunday to kick off a new era.
