We've been repeatedly fed the line that Harry dearly wants to stay with the club he loves but that he just needs to see the club moving in the right direction, to see if it's ambition matches his etc etc etc and then he's open to signing a new contract.

A year ago, Spurs were coming off the back of a brilliantly exciting end to the previous season, having got themselves CL qualification. Son had a Golden Boot and Conte seemed liked his was doing what Conte does(did) and the stadium was full of fans singing Antonio, the vibes were great and players were happy. We signed Bissouma and Richarlison early on that summer. Things looked good......and yet Harry did not sign a new contract.

It absolutely has not been great since Poch left but there was more than enough at the end of the previous season to make Harry want to extend his contract if Harry really did want to extend his stay with us, and he didn't (it didn't have to be a new 5 year deal, an extra year or two with a set buy out clause etc etc could have been thrashed out). That says to me his endgame has always been to run down his contract.

IMO he needs to sign a contract extension now or he needs to go to the football club that he's actively encouraged to court his services all summer.

Staying, for whatever reason that might be given, but not signing a contract extension, would be piss poor after all the City stuff 2 years ago and now this circus with Bayern.

What if, and I wouldn’t be surprised by this. Kane wants to stay but levy wants him to leave and take the £. If word got out, I couldn’t imagine the meltdown.

In my opinion this is what it sounds like is happening to me.

If he stays without signing some sort of extension, then he is in essence intentionally fucking the club over.
Or he has signed a contract and he is honouring it
Not sure what people want

Harry can stay with the proviso that he has to personally pay a journalist to go all the way to Munich and hand Tuchel a signed Kane 10 spurs shirt and ask him if it looks good in a press conference. Bayern are teetering on the brink of insanity over this deal, and that would be the nudge to tip them over. It'd be marvelous.

why does it feel like this is payback for Levy making Kane (a lot of Kanes own fault) look like the villain in the transfer saga with man city.

Couldn't agree more. So many posters have no idea how good the players we are being linked to are but still think it's right to move him on for those players. Utter madness imo.
Some of the players linked I really want (Antonio Silva and Gift Orban) but yeah we really need to be in the Champions league to really rebuild from a position of strength if he is to leave!

I dont blame Harry one bit, but the only thing this is really hurting is our season

This is exactly what MBappe is doing to PSG and look how they are taking it

So Kane is adamant he won't sign a new deal with Spurs this summer, but is now unsure about Bayern.

Presumably he intends to run his contract down, something Levy can do nothing about, apart from trying to get him to sign before he goes.

I have wondered since this all began whether Camp Kane have used Bayern as a Stalking Horse to flush Levy out so they can tempt United. Unlikely, but we'll see.............

To my mind staying at Spurs means signing a contract otherwise it's still leaving just delaying the day.

Why would it be payback then, as Kane made himself look like the villain. For all his faults thought DL played that with the straightest of bats.

No runnnnnnnnnnnnn.

Fabrizio Romano said that we should know in a few hours because Kane doesn't want to fly on Friday or Saturday.

Can you imagine being Bayern if Kane say no because he doesn't want to fly with weekend travel?

He may have agreed personal terms weeks ago even a month or so, but the club didn't agree a transfer fee until the last day or so.

Why is is a "waste of everyone's time" if Levy is screwing the last Deutsche Mark out of them?

Personally I don't want to see him go, but if he is determined to leave, we should every rinse everything we can out of the buying club with the transfer fee, add on's and sell on clauses.

I may have been saying 'waste of everyone's' time in jest'...

But the point is that it's a bit strange for Kane to agree everything with Bayern/Tuchel beforehand and then pull out when the deal has been agreed.
