Oh god.

Can't wait until we try get our replacements only for the selling club to increase their prices now.

Fun times.

This is a joke. Be prepared for the “squad is too bloated, can’t buy until there are outgoings” talking point after Kane leave.

We will try our hardest to sign players but the transfer window will run out. Levy will pen a letter to fans saying he did everything he could.

This club is a farce.

Berbatov was last day of the window I believe this is last day before start of the season, so slightly different in that regard.

Not ideal but if we get the 3 replacements right the squad is already strong we will be ok, there was a club before Harry Kane and we will be ok after Harry Kane, there are some positives to this as well as negatives, its a tough one but certainly not all doom and gloom.
Just want to applaud your Canute-esque efforts to be positive here against the incoming and very understandable tidal wave of despair.

The very words I was going to type. This club has been stripped of its real assets in favour of some glossy brochure version of what business men think a football club is. Whenever we get close to getting back to what we want Levy rips out the guts again. He’s a fucking masochist.
I know Ange is great and I love so many of our players - but I'm not stepping foot in the ground this season, and won't be watching on TV by choice. Rules my emotions too much, and Kane going is a good time to step back a bit

Not many clubs that can hang on to a player at his level for as long as we have while winning literally not a single thing. Bigger clubs have lost even higher profile players. We all have problems with facets of how the club is run, but sometimes things just come to an end and it's not pretty and it hurts, but we've done well to keep him as long as we have, imo
All he wanted to do was win with us, yet we couldn’t put a decent team behind him since Poch.

I’ll ‘cultivate’’ what the fuck I want, it’s a discussion forum 😂

it’s my opinion and take on the sequence of events, having read just about every post on this thread today.

thanks for the advice though 👍
Opinions are like assholes - everyone has one and most shouldn’t be aired in public.

Tomorrow we announce our new captain and Maddison as number 10 maybe. Would love to at least sign someone before it's made official. We need to try get some positive stuff out but this is going to hurt. New era though and still excited about it.
I don’t understand what positives people expect us to get out of this.

however much money we spend we will not be able to sign someone even nearly as good as Kane. We also aren’t in a position to attract one of the few young players with the potential to be as good as Kane.

And that’s only talking about ability - let alone what he means to Tottenham and what he represents. That won’t be replaced by another player for years.

Maybe I’m being emotional but I also really don’t get what Harry is thinking.

Bayern?!

He’s just a mercenary just like all the others.

When a player comes through the club you think they are different but Harry isn’t one of them, apparently.

Fine, we move in with a new chapter under Ange.

Bloody annoying its not going to be sorted before his press conference tomorrow but I'm sure Ange will handle it all like a pro as he always does.

Ideal would be a club statement clarifying that we've given permission for Kane to have a medical at Bayern and there will be no further Q's on it.
Yeah end of an era and will be very sad and surreal if (when?) it's confirmed, but can scarcely think of a manager I'd rather be stewarding our club through a rebuild and Kane's departure than Ange.

If we had Conte, Nuno or Jose at the helm I'd feel so so much more grim about the future of the club without Kane but under Ange I think we're in good hands.

It's gonna suck - Kane's literally impossible to replace - but clubs lose iconic players all the time and do just fine. The age of the "Harry Kane club" may be over but we'll foster new legends and its not like it will be hard to better the trophy haul of the past 10 years.

COYS!

Still a disaster. Kane is the linchpin of the team, upon whom everything else is built. I've tried to keep out of the Levy-discussions, but now. Changing the entire focus and mentality after the start of the season, when it should have been done the moment Ange came in leaves absolutely no doubt that Levy is incompetent and needs to go.

It's just all pretty sad really isn't it? I named my son after Harry Kane, my Liverpool supporting wife didn't clock it until it was too late. Not even got Winksy to fall back on now.

At least when Palacios left us, I could lie and say my dog was named after the ball in Castaway.

Emotionally, this feels not too dissimilar to the UCL Final defeat. It's fully the end of an era. At least with Ange, we'll have a team that'll be fun to watch and hopefully on an upward path, not like everything that came after that bloody final.
