I know it's funny as it will wind up the German press etc. However, in reality this is piss poor from Levy. The timing is already going to put us on the backfoot so close to our first game. If you've agreed everything, just let him go.

More speculation, more questions for Amge to deal with and IMO he should be looking at improvements to our squad after agreeing to sell our best player rather than trying to 'win' in the deal with Bayern.

Oh look, Levy trying to haggle over an extra mil or so and spend less time trying to actually improve his football club
He isnt going to get someone in for Brentford. Bayern fucked us around for over 3 weeks. Let's fuck them around.

Yep names Players please ? 100m won't get you an average Brighton midfielder atm
I trust in Ange until I no longer do
I think this is one of the shittest parts of all this.

When we sold Bale, £85m could buy several players of quality. Whether they work out or not is beside the point.

The money we’re getting for Kane can get us 2 quality players, but we still need to shop around.

I don’t begrudge Kane the move and I wish him well - he’s been unbelievable for us. What’s so depressing about this is that we’ve let it run on until the opening day of the season and we have no discernible plan to spend the money. They’ve known he was likely to leave for ages. It should have been done and the replacements in, or at least lined up.

It feels like every year we handicap ourselves through brinkmanship, penny pinching, lack of any clear direction, or this year, selling our best goal scorer in living memory 48 hours before the first game.

I honestly do feel optimistic about our future under Ange but he’s been put on the back foot almost immediately. No real surprise though, I guess.

I think this is a very one-eyed take.

You can only sell when somebody makes an acceptable offer. Bayern started very low. How do you time that differently as a selling club? How do you get it 'done'?

What do you know of the plans to spend the money? I would suggest you don't have any idea about that but just because you don't doesn't mean there is no plan. Beyond that the coach will obviously have known about every stage of all of this and would have been expecting it. Also, given we are clearly building a young side I don't think pinning our hopes on 'win now so we keep Kane' will fly anymore. If he's not on board for the 3-5 year project then it seems pointless having him here to destabilise the coming season.

We hear all this crap about 'brinksmanship' and 'penny-pinching' etc but the reality at our club is we have spent loads of money and we have done it quite badly. We judge signings WAY too quickly here but we can clearly say from 2019-2021 we wasted pretty much all of our budget and we added to our rebuild task because of it.

Kane can't go on forever, he has been here 10 years and for all anybody knows he would never have stayed whether he had won a couple of League Cups or not. We were lucky to have him as long as we did and now we have a decent amount to continue building up a young side with. I've seen it all before, we have to dust off and go again and the direction of travel seems overall positive.

Is it right to sell Kane when he wants out? Yes, we aren’t a club who can make a 100m loss on a player.
BUT, this should have been sorted a month ago. The deadline should have been set.
The club should have had a clear cohesive plan to replace Kane from day 1, whether that’s spreading the money out on 2-3 players in different positions or going big on 1 player to try to replace him.
It’s very difficult to watch our generational talent of a player leave, combined with our rivals spending huge sums on their issues.
We have signed some players yes, but they have all been cheap options, every single 1 was free or not a main target.
The club has constantly failed over the ENIC tenure and this is just another huge failing.

Disappointed in Kane

young players come from German league to Prem not the other way around. It’s similar to going to Celtic in a way, it’s just a 1 club league.

I don’t see the ambition or achievement of winning with the club that always wins he could of gone anywhere next year

Levy is making the club a fucking laughing stock now. What the fuck is he doing? Just let him leave
If it's true, that is pretty embarrassing but these last minute bits of drama often seem like media clickbait.

Look the players we've bought in aren't bad players, and Ange is a breath of fresh air. But make no mistake if he signs for Bayern we start the season weaker than we we were yesterday.
Agreed on this.

But.

Potentially better off than we'd be in a year from now if we kept Kane and he left for nothing.
