Going slightly against the grain here but I do believe we will spend a good chunk. Lloris & Hojbjerg are also close to leaving and then we need to shift 4/5 more to trim the squad. Who we will bring in I'm not 100% sure, but Levy will know the pitchforks will be out if he doesn't act very quickly. There is no way he doesn't bring in a couple more by UTD, otherwise the atmosphere could be toxic in our opening home game of the season.
Fingers crossed you are right on the spending, but I make it more than 4-5 that need shifting and it beggars belief that we’ve only sold 1 and loaned 1 so far as most of them needed to go irrespective of new buys. I make it spence, a CB, 2 LBs (do we need 4???) and Ndombele as an minimum plus one out for whoever we bring in (other than CF). That leaves us with at least 2 for every position plus kids which is more than enough when we aren’t even in Europe

Q for people then if it’s Schurrs & Fati (and Son/Richy cover ST) or Schurrs & Orban (and Son/Perisic/Solomon/Kulu/Gil cover wing spots)

Which other positions would people want upgrading in order to be happy enough with the Kane sale / money being spent and made up for?

Aside from possibly another CM if PEH goes then I can’t see too many other areas right now that we’d need to improve 🤷‍♂️

At least:
A proper Striker
A finished article CB
Specialist CDM

And some of the players that actually need to be sold, not just our best player, to be sold.

How many times have the pitchforks been out at this stage. They don’t give a fuck what the fans think once they’re making money.
Yep pitchforks means there are bums on seats. No one turning up would be the real way to hurt them and the only way we would see any change.

You can never properly replace players like Kane.

We didn't replace Keane, Berbatov, Modric, Bale ect with exact replacements. You get the best fit in for how the team will now play.

This has been the history of our time in the PL. We've always brought in some of our best players just as the players who they would have been brilliant alongside have departed:

1992 - Sheringham in, but Gascoigne out
1997 - Ginola in but Sheringham out
2006 - Berbatov in but Carrick out
2008 - Modric in but Berbatov out
2012 - Dembele, Vertonghen, Lloris in but Modric and Van Der Vaart out
2013 - Eriksen in but Bale out
2023 - Maddison and VdV in, but Kane out

Imagine seeing some of those players linking up with each other. I know that we've been able to fund many of those incomings from the sales but it's so frustrating imagining what could have been.

Personal hope is that he breaks all kinds of goal scoring records over there but Bayern still miss out on the Bundesliga and get dumped out of CL early. Call me selfish but I don't want our top players to see people who leave suddenly mop up trophies as it just adds incentive for others to do the same.

The King is dead..... long live the King.
The list of players that left spurs to win trophies is too fucking long to repeat at this point. So it's absurd to say something like this. I mean, it's sad to see Kane going, but he shouldn't waste his time at a clown show like us and any player with ambition eventually has to leave.

when has he cared about the atmosphere among the fans?🤷‍♂️ all he cares is moeny and would just try to make the deals as cheap as possible, regardless of the timing

There will be tons of rumours.

Let’s see how it plays out.

Sorry but some people have been fretting and negative all summer about ‘we won’t get Maddison over the line’ ‘we won’t sign a CB’, now it’s ‘the replacements won’t be up to it’ 🥱 , let’s wait and see, I really don’t think this summer and this time around with Ange essentially as our DofF and Manager that things are anywhere near as doom and gloom as some are making out.

It depends how Ange sees the puzzle 🧩.

We do of course still need to sign another CB and another attacking player, if we don’t do that then I’ll be concerned but surely to goodness we will get at least another 2 in with the Kane money and if so this summer we will have signed:
GK
CB x 2
AM
WF
ST
Plus Udogie is back and Bissouma is actually now being played to his potential so we will have improved overall in so many areas and have an exciting new style of play.

Im happy to be wrong but I think we will be ok but next few days/weeks of recruiting will be important ofc.

To be fair Richarlison, Bissouma, Maddison are those types of players.
Seen as the best players at their clubs. Last season we never got to see the best out of the former two due to injuries, but it did feel like a turning point in the transfers we make. We never really done that before.
Yes but there is always an angle to our purchases, these included. Good players but they are opportune buys that perhaps the manager at the time didn’t actually want. Richarlison….Everton needed to sell for FFP, Levy even tried to fuck them over last minute. Bissouma…contract expiring at Brighton. Maddison….Leicester relegated, forced to sell. We don’t identify a position, scout players, then sign the best player for that position. Whichever way you look at it, Levy and the board have failed this club, Kane included.

Sad day, but a day we've been unfortunately expecting. Personally I feel its Better now than next year on a free to possibly a premiership team, that would hurt more. Upto Ange to pick up the pieces, and hopefully our players react accordingly as they cannot rely on Kane anymore. It's a new Spurs era, gotta get behind the team more than ever despite what Levy does or doesn't do with the money. Good luck Harry, thanks for the memories. And more importantly, COYS!

I remember when we bought Lineker and we looked really strong. Next moment we sold Waddle, our best player, and the financial shit really hit the fan. Who is worse, Levy or Scholar?

My 7yo has just got into football and loves Harry Kane. Wanted a Kane shirt for his birthday next week. Will get one with his name on it instead. I think he's going to be more upset than I am.

It’s almost as though we’re not allowed to step up a level. Maintain the failure, the hope, the despair. Keep them keen, treat them mean. When we could have pushed on with our best team in recent years we were allowed to stagnate. To Dare is Too Dear indeed.

It's like we've finally got a new engine for our car and then sold the wheels.
It's more like we were in the final year of a lease for a supercar, the owner said we're not going to extend the lease and someone came in and offered us £100m for it.

Now you love this car but with it being exported at least you don't need to watch someone else drive it for the next few years at least and we get to pick out a shiny newer model... It may not be the same but with so many holes in the garage roof, that extra cash might come in handy to make up for the neglect over the years.

...sorry I think this protected drama has sent me a bit senile.
