Kane was like a barometer for hoping for success under Levy. Now he's gone which says it all

We should have bought VDV AND Tapsoba because the amounts involved are affordable for a club of our stature with the revenues from the stadium etc which we were promised would be a game changer. We haven’t invested anywhere near what we should have on our defence for years

it is no argument that the likes of Ndombele or our other big buys failed. This is what decent - not even top class - players cost these days. You need to pay those figures AND get the scouting right. We’ve been shit with the scouting so now use that as an excuse to just buy cheap, but that’s a recipe for mediocrity on the pitch and a bloated squad full of deadwood we can’t be rid of

our biggest purchases ever are in the region of what the teams around us are now paying for squad players. We seem more reluctant to buy established talent since the stadium was finished than we were before - so what was the bloody point. Why were the Poch years hamstrung by the stadium at all then. Imagine what we would have achieved if we had backed Poch the way Arsenal have backed Arteta, I’d have taken that and kept WHL

none of this current rebuild should have been contingent on Kane leaving. Now that he has we should be all over Vlahovic or a similar profile. But of course we won’t be it’ll be cheap potential aka next summers deadwood

We are going backwards and I’m sick of it.

Kane will score about 40 goals this year. There are only 3 teams in the Bundeliga who would have a chance of finishing top half of the EPL.

When that happens, the transfer fee will look like a bargain

I found this really moving. Really shit day for us all
Cheers mate, yeah it’s sad the day has finally arrived. The worst part is the young striker that me and my dad barely noticed making his debut in Europe for us should have gone on to lead us to a few trophies. Unfortunately here we are and the last time we won the FA Cup was when my Dad took me to a Wembley as a 10 year old and he was only 4 years older than I am now. 33 years without the cup, just too much.

My gut is that he will get an ankle injury and be injured - he is due another one!

I think we need to back Richarlison this season. Give him a chance and see what he can do. The money from Kane needs to go on a top defender who can make an immediate impact.
100% agree. Even with Kane gone, I am far more concerned about how many goals we are going to concede compared to how many we will score.

Richarlison may not score as many but he will occupy defenders well to give space for the wide player and attacking midfielders to score.

I think Bayern will want at least one CL in the bag before even considering it a good deal, never mind bargain.

There is some serious revisionism going on here about how the Bale money was spent.

We broke our transfer record to sign Paulinho, who had just set the Confed Cup alight and was a hot property. Then, we broke it again, to sign Soldado - a proven goalscorer from the continent. We broke it a third time that window to sign Lamela, who was an incredibly exciting young player. We then added Eriksen and Chadl, Champions League players who were improvements on what we had. The only real punts we took were Capoue (who ended up being a more than decent Premier League midfielder, post-Spurs) and that mad-lad, Vlad. We don’t talk about him.

Overall, not good ROI. But it is only now, in hindsight, that we can say this. At the time the fans were happy with the acquisitions, and the club was hailed for its good business.
It was my favourite window. Trouble is only some signings actually come good. That's why you want a handful so you end up with 2 or 3 quality ones out of it. Thankfully our squad is better this time compared to then so only need a few of our signings to be great with the players we already have and we should be good.

You know what. I just reached acceptance in my five stages of grief.

fuck him. Time for the rest of them to stand up and be counted. Sometimes relying on one player seeps through the squad. Now they don’t have Kane to bail them out. Maybe other will weigh in. We got to a champions league final without him. And lost it with him.

We are Tottenham hotspur not acrington fucking stanley you utter virgins lol

Most footballers would be honoured to be thought of as the replacement to a striker like harry whatshisname 🤔
It's all moot probably as levy will probably just stuff all the cash down he's pants and walk round like billy big bolloxs anyway.
But saying no body will come to us is quite frankly pathetic 🙄

I think we are lucky we still have another Golden Boot winner in our team who's capable playing in the middle. I still think we'll struggle to find anyone better than Son's goal scoring abilities and there's very much more of a market in finding another winger that compliments our team. Striker market is just awful if you want anyone half established. Son, Richy and someone like Gift Orban should be enough for a team that is playing once a week imo
Son was poor last season, and needs to get back to the levels he set the season prior when he was joint golden boot winner. IMO I think Son has peaked and we'll have moments of magic from him, but overall, I think he'll struggle like last season. Hopefully I'm proved wrong.

The point was to provide a very lucrative multi-sport/entertainment/hospitality venue for ENIC to exploit, the Vegas of England, if you will.

And with different tactics some of those players possibly start better, don't lose confidence and end up being good signings. This time around we seem to have a coach that will create plenty of chances for midfielders and forwards.

Fati & Schuurs, got to hope Ange is a miracle worker if they are the two we bring in. Both decent players, but they're just that.

I honestly think he is, I've felt that pretty consistently (With no evidence, only vibes) and I think Son is gonna be reborn (Lot's of evidence).

Sad days. £120m is a good chunk of money to reinvest into the squad. Unfortunately, I have little to no faith that it will get spent wisely.
