Sooo if they thought Kane was leaving, what's the reason we couldn't splash out on #1 target Tapsoba?

Yeah, I can understand people being upset or emotional about Kane leaving. Football affects us all in different ways. A lot of people are clearly very, very angry, which personally, I don't think is particuarly healthy but whatever.

But what I'm really struggling to get my head around is people being shocked by it. He's wanted out for two years. It was obvious that he wouldn't be signing a new contract, so would be leaving next year anyway. It just seemed inevitable that sooner or later, this summer or next, he would be gone. It's not a shock, it's been on the cards for two years.
Exactly. But people need to understand and be reminded that in both circumstances, his beloved Charlie bro instigated the move all by themselves to serve up interests. Not being ambitious from Levy is one thing, but it still takes two hands to clap and Kane definitely isn't clean of all responsibility.

Harry could have stayed and became the GOAT there was a new contract available to sign, but he's chosen to leave so as far as I'm concerned it's a case of thanks for the memories, I couldn't care less if he never wins a trophy or how his career progresses. It's an exciting new era for Tottenham and I'm all in with Ange, COYS and for the first time in years I'm feeling pretty optimistic 😁

Just fucking brilliant. It's bad enough knowing our star player is leaving, but to then hear that the business / money to be spent replacing him has already happened?? That's just the shitty icing on the top.

Just as likely that it infers the style and type of players we’ve been buying have been bought for a Kane -less XI than it does the spend coming from the Kane income

"We've been planning for this, it's fair to say, for a while. It doesn't take too much investigative work to realise this was going to happen. A lot of our business so far has been with this in mind. It doesn't change my plans dramatically."

Weird he was captain and played so many minutes against Shaktar.
In potentially his last time playing in front of the White Hart Lane crowd, it was only fair to play him for an extended time, to give him an opportunity for a good send off, if he were to leave.

Madhouse here... Ange didn't say anything about money. Bringing madison and a young striker is working with Kane leaving in mind

That's absolutely the spin they will put on this transfer to make them look benevolent and put the emphasis squarely at Kane's door.

A PR Donna Cullen special *chefs kiss

No one forced Kane out of the door and paid a decent amount. Many years of mismanagement by Levy.
Both can be true. Doesn't just have to be all Levy.

That's not what those words say.

Ange has just put a sledgehammer to one of the layers of what we've convinced ourselves of, how long will it take us to build a new one that this is exactly what we wanted?

On replacing him

I don't think there's a like for like replacement for Harry. We've been planning for this for a while to be fair. It doesn't take too much investigative work to know that this was going to happen. Our business up to now reflects that.
I don't think it works that way [giving Daniel Levy a list of strikers to get]. It's not like the family shopping list to go and get milk and bread for the kids. My whole strategy has been that Harry was unlikely to be around so it wasn't like we had a pow wow this morning. With that said, we are looking into the likes of Lukaku so we’ll see what comes of it.

That last line may not be true.
