Because Bayern hadn't offered us £100m weeks ago.

You're not really that dense are you Tucker. Tell me you're not.
Come on. The guy literally said we’d been planning without Kane in mind. A deadline should have been set for the start of the tour. Shambles of a club. Ludicrous that we wasted 80 minutes on Kane on Sunday when it was obvious he was leaving. All we’ve done there is get him fit for Bayern.

Fuck me, you'll really read anything into anything.

He also says SO FAR. But you miss those words because you want it to say the money has already been spent.

He's been clear he wants to bring in further/other players - I know everyone is sensitive but please God nothing is pointing to us not doing anything further.
You sound like the one being sensitive mate ;)

Obviously a lot of emotional turmoil going on. I would just hope that if we are selling our best player, our record goalscorer, then we are going to be ambitious to invest in the rebuild. We haven't shown that ambition so far. Let's not forget we came 8th last year, and we are significantly weakening our side by selling Kane.

That's fine but you are choosing to ignore some of the most reliable ITKs on this site that the deal was agreed in principle the day before the Shakhtar match.
see the problem here is you taking everything the ITKs say as 100% gospel

What do people expect Ange to do?! Announce to the world that we have £100m+ to spend on incomings?! We will 100% bring in at least 2 more players, my guess is 3. And we will move a good few out of the door

I think people are misinterpreting what Ange has just made clear given people are saying it's outrage about money.

What his words reveal is that our business has been in relation to Kane leaving, up to this point the information we have had is that we were doing business with the consensus that Kane was staying and that should something transpire, that we have a plan in mind in addition to him.

Even the people claiming we've misinterpreted his words, have message upon message on this forum board which shows that they too saw that it was working this way. We've been talking about Keeper, Maddison, 2 CB's for months in addition to Kane, with Solomon replacing Danjuma and Moura. It's now been revealed that this was not the case, that's what people are annoyed about, there was a general feeling that we needed these thing's with Kane, now we're preparing for a season where these additions were in relation to, so we're going to be severely underpowered. People were even thinking that Gift Orban was gonna be a signing whether Kane leaves or not, same with Véliz.

Don't choose to argue against the low hanging fruit of expenditure, remember what you thought we needed at the start of the season and compare it relatively to that.

Preparing for him to go needs to incorporate the chance that he might not. I don’t have a problem with him being on tour or getting pre-season minutes. I think that’s the least of our worries right now

Something tells me you'd be the first to question why we didn't get him match ready if we'd have left him out of the tour and the move fell through.

What we did was 100% the right thing to do in that situation.

Touchè... we had every right to push Bayern to the limit... they clearly didn't offer enough the first couple of attempts... and I'm happy we did. Stop blaming the club for this... this is OUR world class striker we are talking about here... and I don't care about Harry's contract.

Deadline's or not...

I think the majority on here believe that their information was correct. I certainly do. Especially as it came from multiple sources at both ends of the deal.
Fantastic.

But that still doesn't make it gospel, so you should stop suggesting as much.

What happened to the transfer ticker thread this season?
I can't keep up with God knows how many new pages in this thread (probably at least 50+) since I went to bed last night in the US. It would really help with the ITK and verified news from sources.

Or a way to see more than just the Top 5 Popular posts...

How am I saying its 100% gospel? I'm just pointing out that someone appeared not to have given it any credence at all.

It is true though that on that particular piece of ITK i do believe it was completely correct.

This is an irrational view, so presumably you have a strong view about Levy etc.

We can't sell a player without another club making the offer.
We also can't indicate to buying clubs that we are holding players back for them because it strengthens their negotiating position.

These things are extremely obvious.

Don't start calling out one of the most balanced posters on here as dense because he's calling it how he see's it. he's consistently defended Levy and the club decisions and done so with fair points. He then calls this situation how he see's it, which adds value to how he consistently defends Levy because it shows he's willing to look at each situation as it comes and you call him dense? Nah I'm not having that.

Perhaps Tucker understands the value of a pre-season may be greater both on the football pitch and even in financial terms as better performances early on may lead to financial reward. It's a completely reasonable argument to make.

Great post. We will score goals in this new system but we surely need a new wide forward or striker now. Richi is often injured and not prolific, Son IMO is on a steep decline, Kulusevski needs to recapture his form, and Solomon looks promising but I doubt anyone saw him as a starter, at least for now.
