he didn't say the cl is overrated, he said people overrate the need for cl to keep your best players/sign new ones, he said if you pay the money and show you're ambitious then they'll sign. i thought he came out of the interview quite well and i'm hardly his biggest fan, he was saying clubs don't let players get down to their final year of their contract if they think they're any good so if daniel thinks he's the right man for the job then he'll offer him a new deal, if not then he won't.

he also said he hasn't spoken to anyone in qatar and has no idea where this mulumbu link has come from.

Let's not let some facts get in the way of a good ole hangin'

What he says (in the article linked to by James) makes complete sense and is accurate I think.

What did he say about a new contract though?

He did say in relation to his contract situation

'I don't really...' stopped himself before 'care'
It doesnt b..' stopped before 'bother me'
Before saying something more diplomatic

He seemed pretty annoyed to me at not getting his renewal which I think is rich after the England debacle.

He should be patient (and quiet) and consider accepting our terms (if there is any) without a fuss rather than almost suggesting he is giving us an ultimatum on his future

Sorry this comment in bold 'if you pay the money' is BULLSHIT of the highest order.

The ecconomics are that Spurs received about the same amount of money from the Premiership copetition as they did from the CL - so if the player is solely money orientated then they will only join a team in CL.

Its called Harry spin for paying maximum wages - same problem as wrecked Bournemouth, West Ham, Portsmouth etc before - on the basis that Harry is a manager mainly interested in short term results - not interested in the long term.

Given Harry's track record of chasing the England job through the media and going awol for a few months he certainly does NOT deserve anything except (at most) a 1 year extension with a capped payoff, to prevent him repeating the exercise if woy doeesn't win Euros and the job comes up again.

All ok to be honest except for the bit about contracts, with what has just happened in levys personal life he should have politely dodged the question.

Problem here is that Harry has specialised in being in front of a microphone (see Jordan's quote on this - I can't ever see Harry not being in front of a microphone) - he is now a specialist in spin.

Like Tony Blair (sorry to bring up politics) he will only be completely be found out once the he is not in place and the spin stops.

Think it's completely unfair that he's talking about his situation today, he should say he'll speak about it once everything has settled regarding Levy. I haven't got a problem with Redknapp still being our manager but that is no way to conduct yourself.

Nothing terrible, except the timing of talking about this. And with Levy's mom dying yesterday, this is where we could see some issues.

It may well be true that Levys mother died yesterday but as of now the only thing I can find anywhere on the net is the thread in here relaying what some block on Facebook has said.

If anyone needed clarification on the mans class then this interview coming the day DL buries his mother is it...

Weeks to say something & more weeks coming but today of all days, when his chairman is obviously busy with things far more important that football...

Disgraceful...

Is everyone here aware that Harry has hired Wayne Rooney's agent to try to crack Levy's nuts?

Great match up. Isnt Paul Stretford some kind of gangster? I just remember him poaching Rooney from his then agent, and done it using underhand tactics. Cant see Levy buckling though.

Hang on, so she died yesterday and he's burying her today?

Sounds a wee bit like bollocks to me.

Is there any genuine report showing truth in this rumour?

May seem silly, but were these comments live, or have SKY decided to fan the flames of controversy?

If Levy's mother has indeed died (Hopefully not true news) then it's completely unfair, however if not then it's still not a great way about getting a new contract.

Might be speculation. Although, and forgive me as I am not Jewish so this might lack certain detail, I believe the Jewish faith requires burial as soon as possible as an act of kindess and respect to the deceased.

Maybe, I'd be surprised if it's even possible to organise a funeral in 24 hours though.

Anyway, like I say, there's one post on FB about this and fuck all else.. at the moment there's every chance it's nothing more than spurious internet bollocks.

Like Islam, although Islam is a bit more rigid (no, not a pun, just can't think of less innapropriate word here) about timings I think.

Us CofEers are far more relaxed about it. Booking a nice garden and getting the Pimms ready is the first order of business it seems.

Exactly. If people with far too much time on their hands can't find confirmation is it possible that Redknapp didn't even know??
