All the pre-match hype was about whether Poch would start Kane or not, but IMO the bigger gamble was to start Winks who had been out for just as long. Whilst Kane looked a bit off the pace, even before he started dropping deep as he should have, I have to say I was really impressed with Winks once again.

Obviously he didn't last the 90 because of the injuries, but IF and it's a big IF he can stay fit next season then we could have a real player on our hands IMO, he has come on massively this season and is crucial to helping us maintain possession in big games like yesterday. However, and I've said this before, there is the risk of injuries turning him into our Jack Wilshere - an obviously talented player from our youth team who lives off a reputation of a top performance in the Champions League against a Spanish giant while constantly getting injured and seemingly regressing in ability.

Am glad he's not playing for England this summer, even as an England fan. Give him a nice long rest, get fit again, and then start him alongside one or two new faces in a top new Spurs midfield next season.

I love this kid (who's not even that much of a kid anymore). He was great even though he's been out and everything. I'm just hoping he can have more luck in the future so that he can have the career he deserves.

Still can't & never will understand how there's people who don't rate the lad. Our least experienced midfielder, yet he's the one who holds it all together & knits the patterns.

Our midfield is not the same without him in it. He's a fucking superb player

It was the same with Michael Carrick. Many fans underrated him because his positional sense and accurate passing goes under the radar.

I was delighted when he was announced to start, thought he played well. Will be a big player for us if he can stay healthy.

My dad is like that, he always moans about him playing. I on the other hand think he's a cracking wee player.

I actually get so triggered when people suggest he shouldn't start for us next season, but believe Sissoko should (and no, that's not taking anything away from Sissoko).

This guy was our best I thought, how much would he cost to buy if he was at another club?

50m I'd say considering he's English. He's a Yid too, what a player to have

He's got the ability to find a pass so we need to give him even more options when he's on the ball.

Get a flying RB in, get the number 10 (currently Eriksen) up to speed and add a match fit Kane into the side, and Winksy will be pinging the passes about for fun.

Would love to see him and Lo Celso in the same team tbh.

He had some incredible performances in CL and his performance against City should be end all of debates about his ability, it was one of the most mature midfield showings in a long time, something that's not easy to do for anyone especially someone young like him. There is only one concern with him and that's his injuries, nothing else. He will keep improving if he can stay healthy.

At least 3 Liverpool fans I know have come to me in the last day saying Winks was brilliant and arguably our best player. Fingers crossed he can have an injury free season next year because he could really motor on and become something massive for us

Winks was the best player on the pitch for 60 mins. He's a star. Looking forward to him having more support next season, and staying fit.

I met his mum on Saturday at a posh hotel before the game (that sounds so wrong but it's the only way I can put it). We were loitering look for tickets and she came up to us and shouted "COYS". We asked if she had tickets but no joy, she said he was now fit and healthy so fingers crossed for next season and beyond.
