He's past the stage where we say "looks comfortable at this level", "talent in the making", "real prospect" etc. Now he's at the stage where we hold our breath, waiting for him to screw up, so we can slate him.

THIS!! haha!! Agree, i though he was again one of our better players. When you watch him closely he does two things that a lot of our players don't. First time passes around the corner not back to the player who just passed it to him (yawn), he then moves once he has passed it, but not a little jog, with actual determination to make space. Its great to watch as some of our older players can't grasp this. I really rate this kid.

As others have said, a very tidy player. Reminds me a little bit of Modric the way he keeps the ball ticking over.

Same here no one is obviously comparing on ability but he pass forward quick, retain the ball and move quickly into space.

There isn't anyone else in our squad like him and we have lacked that kind of player for a while.

Dont think the tactics and personnel suited his game fully yesterday but he did well enough and kept the ball, will be nice to see him in the team when lamelas back, should have more fluidity in our attacking positions then which will help him.

He is neat and tidy - for a 20 year old he looks very composed. Great potential and he could develop into a great player for us.

I agree, and thought much the same about Mason when he broke through

think poch has got it right with winks.. winks has always been lauded and looked a huge stand out prospect since schoolboy days
slowy developing into the squad and first 11 he will become are far more rounded player imho, the prem is without doubt the toughest league in world football to break through in to for a young player.
having watched him over the last few years at youth and u/21, 23s and have no doubt he has the ability to play at the highest
level for us.

I'm glad to see him finding a spot on the team. I remember Windy talking positively about him 3 years ago possibly. He's nearing 20 matches already and six of them as starter. It's not always easy to tell much in the cameo appearances but he's definitely impressed MP enough to get the much needed experience that will test his future viability with the club.

I think he's doing well at what he does. He keeps it simple without taking many risks. As someone said he keeps us ticking. I think once he gets very comfortable he will do more, kind of like what Mason did. Carroll started like Winks but never took it to another level

Tommy has a similar range of passing and forward looking game but the physical attributes for me are completely different. Winks is as agile as Dembele in my book, can sprint, can tackle and most of all wants to tackle. Tommy for all his technique was rather slow out of the blocks and doesn't show the same desire. For me Winks has everything in his locker to become a starting mid for England.

It will be interesting to see how he develops in this team cause with the likes of Dembele being a coach favorite his development time might be limited. I wouldn't let him go for the world though cause I think so highly of him.

For me he is a mix of Kovacic and Kroos. He can wiggle and burst out and he can pick the pass. Can't wait to see him get more time.

I know Poch rates him because he sat on the right in the contract photo. If he's not sure and thinks the player will be sold on, he sits on the left.
