I guess since he's never been on loan or left Spurs in any capacity, he might be more reluctant to move than most. This is very much his home and I imagine he's extremely comfortable at the club and settled into a routine here.

That said, he'd be an absolute idiot not to grab any half decent move he can take at this point. Does he really want to tank his career when he's only 26? Seems absurd to me.

Indeed but they have to be offers that suit him. Obviously they are all going to be a step down from Tottenham, but if he sits out his contract now(which he is completely entitled to do) the offers he'll get will be worse than he's getting currently because he won't have played any football for years, and he might as well retire afterwards.
I'm sure he will see sense soon enough. Doesn't he think he's good enough to get back into the England squad? (I think otherwise lol). He's not doing himself any favours sticking around with zero chance of playing time.

He'll do a Judas but no one will give shit. He'll run his contract down and join Arsenal women on a FREE!!! Effigies will be hang burning on Tottenham Road! THE PRESS WILL LOVE IT ?????

Come on Man Utd. Come and buy him. We all know you can't resist an English international who is also cheap!

Could also be that he doesn’t want to move abroad. Don’t know if he’s got kids etc but that could be a part of why he’s happy to just stay here.

Based on what?
Well firstly it’s a metaphor.
we can’t get rid of him it seems.

secondly (and more crudely), his dwindling ability and appeal to PL managers- who by the way all worked out how to expose him last season, have now decided they don’t want him in their squads either. Hence the lack of offers. Because hes…… not good.

But i appreciate that he’s a Tottenham boy and whilst we’d all love him to be just like Kane, king et al he’s not the same quality.
Hell, he’s no mark noble either. He’s not a club legend and I really don’t want his legacy to be one where he runs his contract down whilst moping around the training ground

But he’s the one choosing Hemel Hempstead over Genoa right now.

Would understand him seeing out his contract if he had one year left but with two it's madness

Reckon it will be Bournemouth loan with option at the death

Yeah fair point, actually. I was under the assumption most of the interest was from English clubs, but there was some interest from Spain too, right?

That really limits his options, there are only a few possible teams he could go to in the prem, and I think he would be bullied in the Championship and lower. Abroad would most probs be the only place he will be able to get regular playing time.

Wasn’t the latest report that interest over here had dried up and Fabs was shopping him round Italy and Spain.

It has come to a point I am feeling sad for him already. If he has a backbone and more integrity, accept his fate here and move on sooner to elsewhere, I honestly believe most fans will wish him well and remember that few fond memories. But the longer he stays he's just gonna stink the whole place and fans tolerance further. Why couldn't he see the bigger picture I have no damn idea.

Seems a strange ol’ situation. He sort of floated through so many managers. Kinda Teflon Boy. Obviously he’s within his rights to hang about. He represents another face of what we’ve done poorly as a club. The sort of player who just drifts. It throws into stark contrast now how everyone else has a place and a role.

Give him away free to Afc Wimbledon or stevenage, Charlton etc is the best bet for him, and us. He has no credit in bank and ultimately will become a more chances given Bostock. Just terminate contract as a thank you for years put in and then he can have some control over what happens.

He's not a piece of meat.
In a world of business and those that currently pay him and those persective going to pay him... he's exactly that!! And he and his parents etc had that explained to them at the very beginning.

I cannot believe none of the premier league newly promoted teams haven't even enquired. They must have. Surely. ?

Find it really strange home grown and all that a reasonable premier league side hasn’t come in for him ?

then again who knows what levy wants for him . 15m I would say is more than fair . But knowing DL he probably wants double that
