Complete lack of application and will to push on IMO.

Believed his own hype. Like Dele.
Yeah, it's like Dele. Both had injury problems and last few years playing under system that doesn't suit them, nothing about believing his own hype.

Christ.

£4mm for a 10 cap, home-grown 27 year old English midfielder who started a Champions League final in 2019 and is coming off 20 serie A appearances.

Our squad management has been awful. And that’s not just Levy’s doing, but also past managers letting players waste away. We used to sell our cast offs at profit under Poch. Didn’t we flip Wimmer for like 16mm to Stoke?
I do agree we should have sold him several years ago but who cares that he started a Champions league final 4 years ago? He hasn't featured for England in like 3 years.

Unfortunately the Stokes & Sunderlands are gone who used to buy any top 4/5 teams castoffs for good money.

I imagine the relatively low fee we are getting Maddison for likely means Winks ends up going there for a similarly low amount.

Think it'll be a good move for all parties. Winks is a talented player, a proper run of games in a side that will be looking to bounce back up feels a good fit to me.

I've always liked Winks and people forget how good he was back before his injury issues.

Nothing like the Dele situation.

Sadly it's kept him from playing consistently well for a long while.

If he gets back to full fitness (massive if), then anything under 20m will be a bargain. 10m would be a fair price imo.

Good signing (potentially very good) for Leicester (depending on the price).

Some of the known "club-friendly" journos seem to be very keen to point out its a completely separate deal to Maddison.

By them emphasising this, it just makes me more convinced that it is most definitely a linked transaction (with Mason at an undervalue and Maddison's fee lower than we would have expected) in an attempt to mitigate whatever sell-on clauses might exist on Maddison in favour of Norwich and making sure LCFC achieve maximum value possible.

Good financials many will be happy with, especially as a lot of would have happily cancelled contracts just to get rid of ‘dead wood’.

He gave a lot for us. Had injury problems and that knocked him back. Wish him well.

Buy Madds for a low fee (saving leicester money on the Norwich sell on fee)

Sell Winks for a low fee back to them.

Everyone wins.
