Modric is a very good player but certainly not irreplaceable.

I think we have tried to build a team around modric for the last 2 seasons and I don't see us being too brilliant. I honestly think that if we can get 30m + player that would be enough to make us a stronger team overall. Harry was right in saying this as modric has his weaknesses.

My ideal formation if we do lose modric is the german formation 4-2-3-1:

---------------Gomes

--Walker---King------Dawson---BAE

----------Sandro----Diarra---------

--Lennon--------VDV---------Bale--

------------Defoe/new CF----------

This formation would offer great balance and I do believe modric money can get us new cf and cm...

So Harry is saying Modric won't be playing tomorrow night because his head isn't right?

Well there goes the good cop/bad cop theory.....announcing that is hardly being all friendly with Modric.

Either that or Harry is doing him a favour and wants the fans to turn on him so he gets his move....

So Harry is out of order for telling the fans the truth? There is only one man we should be pissed off with here, and it ain't Harry.

This is a lesson to all those who think its easy to deny a player a move these days, they have a team of mercenary agents behind them that twist their heads , this will get messy and we as a club will lose either way, i would get the **** out of our club quickly and get someone in who would be proud to wear our shirt. This is not about making an example of anyone, its about not fucking up our season with a rat who wants out.

Luka's 'head's not in the right place'?

What a cock Modric is!

I can understand wanting to move to earn more money, but it shouldn't affect one's ability to perform one's job

I'm writing this on a Monday morning before work and quite frankly I'd prefer to stay in bed today. But I don't have that option because if I don't go to work I GET SACKED and the bills don't get paid

Modric you fucking ****! How do you think the rest of us fans live, you pampered prick?

You signed a contract to play football for Tottenham Hotspur and earn vast amounts of cash

Get on that pitch and EARN your wage you dick head

FFS! Footballers! It beggers belief

It's different. Who is to say if Modric played for us he actually wouldn't still be our best player? It's Harry's decision whether he plays or not. It isn't like a regular job where if you don't turn up your job doesn't get done. We have a huge squad and only 11 will play so if Harry decides that in the current situation we are better playing somebody else then that is the correct decision for the team.

It just shows what a **** Modric is when John Obi Mikel's dad and Palacios' brother are kidnapped and facing death they still play and give 100%

I'd really like to see Levy fuck 'em all off over this!

I'd like to see Diarra and Adebayor arrive, then once the window closes whack Modric in the reserves until christmas and sack Redknapp and replace with manager/DOF.

Actually, announcing the sacking of Redknapp, the appointment of a new manager, DOF, and new signings together would be class!

Whether or not Levy told Harry to say what he did, the media have quite predictably taken what he said and rolled it into "Modric on strike"!

I just think it doesn't look good for Spurs - forgetting Levy and Harry.

Hate Harry's media babbling myself...BUT these head not right comments are so extreme ,so inflammatory....that they must surely be in concert with Levy

SURELY..

So..carrying on this line of thought...what advantage does this plan of theirs bring to our club ...er..um ...

....Can't see one atm ....wait.. mebbe Levy/Redknapp are really after Drogba and realise Mods must go to get him....so they stoke up the Mods on strike concept to get us fans to sympathise with Mod's eventual departure....

ie their hands are tied with Mods striking .

Personally I'd prefer Mods stayed and Adebayor was our target man .

I'm still convinced that Harry just says what he thinks and doesn't really care a shite what anyone else, including the chairman, think. He probably thibks his results are enough for him to get away with it.

When Harry took over didn't he get full control of transfer strategy? I remember that was one of the conditions he asked for. Slowly but surely this has slipped away.

Not saying this is a good thing. Just that earlier he would have had the authority to sell Modric if he decided it was in our best interests.

Harry's track record precludes him from making that sort of decision. He faces trial for financial dishonesty before the end of the year.

One thing that is said about Harry on a frequent basis is that he is a good mam mamanger and knows how to motivate his players, maybe just maybe, this is Redknapp giving Modric a kick up the arse? We have had plenty of ITKers and memebers of the coaching staff saying how Modric hasn't acted up and has been a true professional. Now if that is the case wouldn't Harrys comments upset/hurt Modric? Maybe it has light a fire in him, he might go to Harry today and say "Play me and I'll show you that my heads in the right place" and he will go on to destroy Man Utd tonight?

On the other hand maybe 'his head is in the wrong place' and he won't play at all tonight but only time will tell but I wouldn't be entirely shocked to see him on the pitch tonight at some point.

But on the bright side only ten more days to put up with this Modric crap! yaaaaaaaaaaaaayy!

That's dealing with money, not whether or not a player is sold

Good stuff...yeh mebbe its a cunning man motivation plan to get Mods fired up to play tonight .

Modric does what he's told, at the moment he is doing what he's told by his agent, when the window is closed his agent won't tell not to play football for a whole year.
If you get asked the question I'm not sure there is a good enough answer to stop stories being made up, if asked if Modric is playing he could have said wait and see which would have started stories about something going to happen.

another factor to take into consideration is that if levy sells luka this window, in essence he has to resign.

he's made a damning statement that he will not be sold 'under any circumstances' and has also been on SSN saying the same thing

his 'word' as tottenham chairman would become meaningless and no fan could ever believe a word he says

Doesn't matter, it's not up to any fans whether he goes or not. And I for one would not want to lose as competent a chairman as Levy over all this.
