Ange apparently likes wingers that stay wide so he would be a good fit, but he should probably move somewhere where he will be in starting 11.

The only thing that scares me (and I really like Barnes) is that he averages less than 1 successful take ons per match, which seems to be a key indicator of successful wingers in Ange's system. Seems that all the other links or players in the past in his system are geared towards successfully beating their man consistently

Chances are that Ange has taken a look at him and has given the green light on getting him.

If that is the case then Ange likely has seen where Barnes is going wrong and what the solution is. From Ange's track record and recent comments, he believes in developing players and I would not be surprised if he thinks Barnes is a great canvas for him to work on.

Barnes isn’t creative at all though, he’s fast and direct absolutely.
He’s actually very similar to Son

There are many variations of creativity. Direct players are also creative interms of their movement, give & gos, flicks around the corner etc.

End of the day what matters is the overall goals & assist tally.

Barnes nearly 60 PL goals +assist

Just to give a comparison ,

Richarlison - Goal or assist in PL every 211 minutes
Chiesa - Goal or assist in Serie A every 180 minutes
Barnes - Goal or assist in PL every 164 minutes

Additional context here is that , he has played with a striker who is very similar to him - Vardy...but Kane wil be complimentary of him and add to his numbers. On other hand, he exactly knows the kind of run he needs to make for Madisson to find him.

IMO, Barnes is vastly underrated. For 25m or so, he would be a steal.

West Ham apparently are going to go in hard for him once the Rice deal goes through.

Wouldn’t want to get in a bidding war with them while they have £105m burning a hole in their pocket.

Shame we haven't really got anyone else we can send them as a sweetener aside from Winks.

Maybe Tanganga I guess?

Sessegnon plus Cash for Barnes would be another great bit of business. Probably too much to ask. Not sure Sess sees himself in the Championship.

Yeah this is the thing. We've got a lot of players to shift but not many who are either Championship level or who would be prepared to play in that league.
