I'm having the same battle...but i'm currently winning it!

Me too don't think my boys get the supporting teams thing yet but they have been brainwashed with kits and merchandise since they were born and have been told if they support arsenal they are out of the family

I thought it was bad enough having to put up with a Liverpool supporting step son who's Dad just gives him red crap all the time. Thankfully he is always up for coming to a game with me and does have a Spurs shirt he asked for so small mercies and all that.
If he was my lad I'd be a little bit more annoyed.

Let him enjoy football and matches (even local non-league teams) but dont let him watch Liverpool on TV by doing things when they are on Sky

Drugs, homosexuality, going off traveling south east asia for 12 months... My kids will be free to live their life as they wish... APART from supporting Liverpool/Citeh/Manure/Chavski/Scum! Then they're out on their arse.

Yeah I've had it with both my two eldest.

Both have come home from school and told me that they wanted to support Chelsea. The eldest is firmly a spurs fan now, the middle one, still a bit torn but isn't into football much. The youngest, just does what dad tells him.

I find myself quite lucky to be honest, a change of fate set me and my brothers on a path of hurt.

My dad when he was 15 supported chelsea, along with his whole family - literally all of them are Chelsea fans, grew up in the area, he met my old dear (who was a spurs fan) and like any red blooded male, change his allegiance ... so we all became Spurs fans.

You're going about this wrong:
- encourage him
- take to him Liverpool
- show him the locals
- allow him to talk and interact with them

He'll be supporting anyone apart from Liverpool before you can say "shall we get out of this fake tanned sh*t hole?"
