This is horrible news, this will be devastating if he doesn’t recover fully. Thankfully he was somewhere surrounded by people and therefore I imagine dealt with as quickly as possible.

I heard a prepared statement read out on the radio news update. Very alarming , it sounds really serious as other have mentioned.

Like many others I idolised him. Really hope it’s not as serious as it seems and that he gets well soon. I still get emotional watching this goal.

Beautiful and sublime goal. The response from the bench. I well up watching this

Not sure why but this seems more serious than the usual reports of people being admitted into hospital. Clubs like West Ham have tweeted their support for him - I know it’s the right thing to do but it’s as if they know exactly what’s happened from inside information on BT and realise how serious it is. Plus cancelling the show on BT.

Really fucking hope he’s ok.

I suspect that cancelling the BT show was due to the fact he was taken ill in their studios & many of the pundits & technicians would have seen that. Robbie Savage has been replaced by Pat Nevin on 606 tonight, given that Robbie had just been broadcasting with Glenn I should imagine he'd have been very shaken up.

On a related note, Nevin just said on 606 that Glenn is one of the few things that can unite Spurs & Chelsea fans, & that he (Glenn) was the reason that Pat joined CFC - he felt that could learn a lot from GHod, Mickey Hazard & co. Fine words, from an intelligent pundit & footballer.

He’s as good as it gets for me football wise. Inspired numerous players as a coach. I know I’ll shed genuine tears if he doesn’t recover. Hoddle is king of white hart lane.. Hoddle, Hoddle, Hoddle, Hoddle; Hoddle is King of White Hart Lane - always!

This precise goal is the reason I first fell in love with football as a 7 year old, and why spurs are my team.

Get well soon Glenn, you're my first inspiration.

Very worrying. Just hope he pulls through. Absolute legend of the lane and far far too young to leave us

My old man, who never shows too much emotion in a sadness way, welled up earlier.
All he said was "the greatest I've ever seen".
I think that says it all.

God I really really hope he pulls through

Still seriously I'll but is responding well to treatment (BBC)

That's positive news.

I'm in shock. I chatted to his daughter only a couple of weeks ago who did some work experience for me a few years ago. I hadn't seen her for a long time and she was saying Glen was really enjoying his media work. Really hope its not as serious as rumours are suggesting

This is very sad news. I met him two years ago, he was ever so nice and very welcoming. He was certainly the most gifted and technical player we ever had.
Surprised that nothing has been said on the OS yet. You'd expect a statement from the club.

Still, get well soon Glenn. In my prayers.

Just got sent this on a WhatsApp group. Take with a pinch of salt, but I’m assuming it’s true as the Hoddle family are from round my way. Seems he is through the very worst of it, but long way to go. Hope he pulls through.

3 stents sounds like clogged arteries up near the ticker. I have just the two since 2006.

I'm sure young Hodd will be fine - certainly in the best of hands I'm sure.

The only good thing about being at Wembley was that I was sat directly above the media section, and had a clear view of my hero Mr Hoddle. Never plucked up the courage to ask him to sign a programme.
